About

Katy Perry is a globally renowned pop artist and 13-time Grammy nominee. She began her music career as a gospel singer before making her pop debut in 2008 with One of the Boys. The album peaked in the Top 10 on the Billboard 200 and spawned Perry’s first No. 1 hit with the Grammy-nominated "I Kissed a Girl." Perry quickly skyrocketed to pop icon status, achieving unprecedented success with her 2010 album Teenage Dream, which hit No. 1 and earned a Grammy nomination for Album of the Year. The album also produced five consecutive No. 1 singles with “California Gurls” (featuring Snoop Dogg), “Teenage Dream,” “Firework,” “E.T.” (featuring Kanye West) and “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.).” In 2017, Perry made history by becoming the first artist to earn three RIAA Diamond Song Awards for “Firework,” “Dark Horse” and “Roar.” Perry now has seven diamond-certified titles. Her distinctive style, blending provocative lyrics with catchy pop melodies, has made her one of the best-selling music artists in history, with over 70 million albums sold worldwide. Beyond music, Perry has expanded her career into television, serving as a judge on “American Idol,” released her own fragrance with Killer Queen and was the subject of the 2012 documentary Katy Perry: Part of Me. In 2024, Perry released her seventh studio album, 143, which features the lead single “WOMAN’S WORLD."

  • Katy Perry was great

by bluedory on 2009-07-27Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

My friend and I enjoyed her concert very much. I liked the way she interacted with the crowd and was not afraid to get up close to them. Her show was amazing and I would recommend her to anyone. She was very entertaining. Thanks for a great show Katy Perry.

All and all, a bit of a let down. The first band was not very good. It didn't help that it was pouring rain. The stereos were ok, but the guy they kept bringing on stage was a tool. I have no clue who he was, all they did was say his name and assume we knew who he was. Katy Perry's singing was great, but there seemed to be a lot of filler. More singing, less talking would be good.

  • Hello Katy Toronto

by FatherFigure on 2009-07-27Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

The break before Katy finally entered the stage was 20+ minutes long. Opening acts were excellent and showed lots of excitement and energy before the main act. The overall concert 7:00-10:20 pm. Katy Perry sang for 60 minutes and each act was 45 min. with 5-10 minute intermissions. Katy Perry had an excellent signing voice, unfortunately, little theatratics and emotion. They shone a white strobe light across the audience, giant neon flashing heart on the stage and introduced a giant cat head at the end. Flashing stage lights used in the earlier acts were rarely used in her concert. She spoke a lot between songs without any real direction or meaning. Overall the concert was for the little kids and teenagers who came out so see her sing.

  • Katy Perry's show was worth seeing!

by Magggie on 2009-07-27Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Katy Perry delivers an entertaining show. She has great energy and delivers an awesome performance. The price was right to bring the kids and all fully enjoyed it. The only glitch was the $20 cash grab for parking when parking at Ontario place should only have been $12. It's stunts like this that make me not want to go to concerts. Just on principle. But Katy Perry is worth seeing.

  • Katy Perry @ the Amphitheatre

by HollyS on 2009-07-27Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

So Katy Perry is totally adorable! She was fun and a great preformer to watch. These were the downsides: 1. It was raining before the concert started so my seats which were not covered by the shelter were soaked (why they constructed the place like that I don't know!) 2. The bands that played before Katy, played what seemed like EVERY song they have! I had to sit thru 2 hours of teenie bopper music! 3. I expected a costume change or some lights and pizaz for her Waking up in Vegas song which there was not. Just her singing in the same costume she wore the whole show. So regardless of my butt wet, it was still a great show. She can really sing! I would go see her again. Especially for the pizza pizza deal of $11/ticket!

  • Katy Perry Concert was wild!!

by Sashbear on 2009-07-27Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Absolutely amazing. Even better than I had anticipated. Katy Perry had no inhibitions and she was wild off the get go! She was rocking that pink guitar and sporting her bizarre outfits that make her so unique! I was very impressed with her ability to perform live and I'd definitely go see her again! I RECOMMEND EVERYONE GO SEE HER IN CONCERT!!!! :)

  • Amazing!

My girlfriend and I bought tickets with the Pizza Pizza promotion and figured Katy Perry would be a fun show! We aren't crazy fans or anything but we like her music and we like concerts.... We were back in the 400 section which was fine by us and we had a clear view of the stage. The opening bands were pretty good. It was very nice to see them all supporting eachother (Stereos getting us pumped up for Katy Perry and Katy Perry saying how greats New Cities was, etc.) Luckily for us two other concert goers were very generous and gave us their tickets in the 200 section which really made our day. We have never been so close at a concert and it put us front row, center pretty much! Nice to see there are people like that. Not only did the niceness end there - Katy came on stage and was tossing out souvenirs left, right and center. She tossed the inflatable strawberries, gave a girl a guitar after pulling her on stage and even tossed her own braclets into the crowd! She put on a FANTASTIC show, sang amazingly even when she did an acoustic solo and had the crowd playing along singing and dancing with her. We will DEFINITELY go back to a Katy Perry show when she is in Toronto with her next album.

Her hit songs were done ok, but the others were terrible, Hillary Duff's concerts were 100 times better than this. Her songs were being played on the radio on the way home, and wow what a difference from live! She would make a good warm up act.

  • Kitty Perry is so much fun!

by wozzy on 2009-07-27Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

The opening acts were great they all had some awesome songs. Katy Perry was so full of energy. Her outfits were outrageous and her voice was great. She sounds just like she does in her album. The cat she had on the stage was creepy but other than that had a blast!

  • Hello Katy Tour Good for Teens

I bought some tickets because my girlfriend mentioned she liked Katy Perry. The concert was good, but I think we might've been a tad old for the crowd. I suppose most of Katy's fans are 10-15years younger than us, but overall it was a decent show.

Katy was great and fun but 2 opening bands that stretched 2.5 hours was a bit much....
