Keb Mo and friends were awesome!

    by BobC1 on 2009-10-18Bronson Centre - Ottawa

An incredible concert. Two solid hours of Keb and the band and it was one of the best concerts I have been to! They had the audience singing and clapping with them and just made it a memorable event. Thir4d time I have seen Keb Mo and enjoyed them all but he really excelled in this smaller venue and it was just great!

    Great band, not-so-great organization

by Tiredofsitting on 2009-10-18Bronson Centre - Ottawa

The band was excellent; unfortunately the organization left much to be desired. The show was to have started at 7PM, but Keb' Mo' did not go on until 8:45PM. One of the band members came out and played a few songs (poorly), but it was just too much sitting. Next time, I would get there early enough to save my seats then get up and stand around. The seating just isn't all that comfortable. Also, parking is not great. We drove around for 10 minutes before finally parking (illegally) in a lot on Laurier. Next time I would take a cab or bus to the Bronson centre.

    Keb' Mo - great!

by heidim on 2009-10-18Bronson Centre - Ottawa

I have my son tickets to see Keb' Mo for his birthday - he loves his music and now I understand why. We sat in the front row though any seat would have been good - they are all incredibly talented musicians, and they kept the audience entertained and on their feet throughout the entire performance. They were warm and friendly and it was wonderful to watch the way they interacted with one another...they had a good time and so did we. You don't forget Keb Mo's voice.

Keb Mo is a magnificent entertainer!!!

by BluesBoy on 2009-10-18Bronson Centre - Ottawa

From the first down beat this band was TIGHT. They played with authority but also humility. They put their hearts and souls into the music and it showed, for over 2 hours straight! It was impossible to tell who was having more fun, the audience or the band. Keb's wry sense of humour and playfulness made a special connection with the audience and they responded. There was a standing ovation 3 tunes before the end of the show and people kept standing and clapping to the beat until Keb played a slow ballad to get them back in their seats. But they were right back up on the last tune and roared for an encore. 3 more tunes were played as people lined the aisles dancing. A memorable evening...

    Keb Mo was dangerously hot!

by Dish on 2009-10-18Bronson Centre - Ottawa

The waiting time was definitely worth it. We lined up at 6pm to get a great seat and we did. After seeing him 3 times at Bluesfest, we finally got to see him from 10 feet away. The small Bronson Place made it warm, close and cozy. Keb was just fantastic! The best show I've seen in a long time. I already knew he was a gifted musician, that he had a unique singing voice (low and warm and great phrasing), but I didn't know he was a good dancer (light on his feet). He also has great people skill and an obvious sense of humour. He appreciated his (slow to dance)audience and made us feel wanted.... Especially with the song: I'm in a dangerous mood. His musicians were also wonderful, playing with a variety of guitars, a steel guitar, a mandolin and an unusual electric fretless bass. Everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves on stage. Keb was dressed with class and he was just so charismatic and charming, my girlfriend and I wanted to take him home with us. We left feeling sad to see him go but really high from the quality time he gave us.

    I want some 'Mo' !!

by bluesnjazz on 2009-10-18Bronson Centre - Ottawa

Keb Mo was in top form Saturday night in Ottawa. A voice like warm molasses ... he's earned the love that Ottawa showed him. Had the crowd laughing with his humour, as he ribbed Ottawa about having security people 'guarding' the stage... and the place so well-behaved! He should have just told everyone to get up and dance, since we were all bopping in our seats anyway. Guess he didn't know in Ottawa, we dance in our seats until someone give us permission to stand... Wish there was 'Mo' time to hear 'Mo' songs.. he continues to be one of my favourites!

    Memorable for a lifetime

by Tedlev on 2009-10-18Bronson Centre - Ottawa

The Keb Mo concert was one of the best I have ever seen and heard. All four musicians, with Keb Mo at the helm, were top notch, talented and hard working professionals of the highest order. These performers really care. Their set was very well planned and executed in every respect. The live sound was tremendously well balanced and varied. There was attention to detail, but the emotional impact transcended even that. Those who have not attended a Keb Mo concert (I've been to three to date) have really missed something very special. If there were six stars to give in this rating, I'd give it.
