About

Kenny Chesney has been one of country music’s most prolific crossover artists for almost the entirety of his three-decade career. The Tennessee native has not only notched 17 No. 1s on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart, but has topped the mainstream Billboard 200 nine times, and has sold 35 million albums worldwide. He also stands as one of the highest-grossing artists in live music, raking in more than $1.2 billion and selling 17.9 million tickets across his touring career, according to Billboard Boxscore. After kicking off his solo career with 1994’s In My Wildest Dreams, Chesney nabbed his first of 23 No. 1 singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart with “She’s Got It All” from 1997’s I Will Stand. His 2003 single “There Goes My Life” remained atop the chart for seven weeks, while 2009’s “Out Last Night” marked his career peak on the Billboard Hot 100, reaching No. 16. Chesney earned his first No. 1 album of the new decade with 2020’s Here and Now. In 2025, Chesney performed a sold-out run at Sphere Las Vegas, and will return to the groundbreaking venue in 2026.

  • Unbelievable!

    by GreatFan1 on 2009-07-10Commonwealth Stadium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

If you remember Taylor as the sweet little girl who toured with Brad Paisley, surprise! She's all grown up with a little 'sass' added to the package. Kenny Chesney was everything I imagined and a little more. His energy was fully on the full time. Reminds me of Sawyer Brown in overdrive. Nothing he did, but something about Kenny suggests mischief and boy next door (all rolled into one). He knows how to work a crowd.

  • Taylor u go girl!

by Candy on 2009-07-10Commonwealth Stadium - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5

Other than the cold and poor quality of sound at times the over all concert was awesome. Taylor is a great artist as well as Kenny. They both know how to get the audience involved!

  • Kenny was Kenny

by GETOVRIT on 2009-07-10Commonwealth Stadium - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5

Kenny was exactly as to be expected from his videos and songs. Fun, playful, laughing, joking and singing great

  • would see Kenny in concert again and again ......

by mmmmmmmmmmmmm on 2009-07-10Commonwealth Stadium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

Kenny is a honey. I would attend any concert he performs in anywhere in Alberta. He engaged the crowed and played song we could relate to and sing along with. High energy performance and seemed 100% thrilled to be in Edmonton playing for us. No problems hearing him sing above the music. Sound levels were great. I have mixed feelings about the time in between each act to set up the stage. One hand it was great for breaks so we didn't miss any of the performances but it also made the evening run a little long with the on average 1/2 hour wait in between each act (aprox total time waiting for performers 1.5hrs).

  • Coolness

by Yann on 2009-07-10Commonwealth Stadium - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5

I enjoyed the concert, the only thing that was a concern to me was the fact that the sound was not the best, I have heard better. I understand that it was held outside so it may be a little more difficult to do, but with such a big tour and doing a lot of outdoor shows, the sound should have been better.

  • Kenny Chesney = amazing.

Kenny was absolutely incredible, unbelievable preformer. Taylor swift was also extremely entertaining.

  • Kenny Chesney Awesome

    by Dancer27 on 2009-07-10Commonwealth Stadium - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5

Kenny Chesney was great. Taylor Swift is a great performer but her sound stage needs improvement. Along with jaydee brigsby, his sound wasn't good either. But Kenny Chesney's sound was great and he is also a great performer.

  • High energy, sing along!

by KennysPenny on 2009-07-10Commonwealth Stadium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

All 4 acts were terrific! Jake Owen - star quality, Jaydee Bixby - a very talented Alberta boy, would have liked to have heard his voice better. Taylor Swift, what can I say...amazing show, well put together. A talent beyond her years, beautiful, theatrical, yet mezmerizing. She should have her own show! FIrst time for Icon Kenny Chesney to play in Canada! Made a for a magical show. He was everything the press said his show was, high energy, up tempo, and spreading himself through his music to everyone. Very difficult to hear vocal on majority of the songs, but when you know the words & sing along, like everyone else around me did, made due. Would have liked to hear some of his earier hits as well. Not a good venue for country artists, poor mixing, small stage. Whole stage was not visable from every seat. Those sitting on the east side, from the stage to section T, did not see Taylor's drum show, or her piano solo, Kenny's brass section, or Kenny's Bongo drummer. Didn't enjoy to have to always watch the jumbo screen! Lastly, ticket pricing was attrocious!!! How can die hard fans afford a $250 ticket to stand on the floor? Outrageously high for young families to attend.

  • Kenny & Taylor gave a great show.

Was a great evening out for the wife& myself; ah daughter"s & son in laws. We enjoyed the concert, even with the cool summer weather conditions.

  • LOVED Taylor Swift and Kenny Chesney !!!!

by princess on 2009-07-10Commonwealth Stadium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

We rented a Limo and had them drive myself and my 2 kids with a friend for each of them, as well as a co-worker and his family and came to the best ever outdoor concert. It was a first for all of us going to the commonwealth stadium and to see the above singers. We didn't get home until 2:00am and all the kids couldn't stop talking about the most amazing night that had.

  • Kenny Chesney and Taylor Swift were the best!!

by Chickmonk on 2009-07-10Commonwealth Stadium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

These two put on quite the concert. It was great that Taylor came out with Kenny for a song. I took my two daughters to this concert, and they loved it. We will definitely be buying tickets to see either again.

  • Kenny + Taylor = amazing and unforgettable

by Jthiessen on 2009-07-10Commonwealth Stadium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

From the moment we got in there, we knew it was going to be a great night. The atmosphere was astounding, the people we're great and the weather turned out to be not so bad. The two openers had tons of energy, and confident in what they we're doing. an hour and a half went by for the two of them. The crowd was starting to get restless because we all knew Taylor would be present in just a few short minutes. As soon as she hit the stage the sold out commonwealth stadium erupted. The energy that that woman presented was astonishing. You could tell she loved what she was doing and that every second on stage she was grateful for. The great thing about Taylor is that she interacted with the crowd, and had a story with every song, some happy and some sad. The set went well over an hour, but seemed wasn't long enough. When Taylor did leave the stage for good, the hype ramped up even more for inevitable performance Mr. Kenny Chesney would bring. Half hour later everyone was sitting, staring at the big banner hung in front of the stage as the final preparations we're made for Kennys performance. minutes later, music started to play and the banner was dropped. Kenny ran out on to the stage, then the catwalk playing and singing with all his energy. It was apparent that this was Kenny Chesneys first performance in Edmonton because the fans, including myself, went wild. His set went on for just about two hours. For those two hours, not one single person was sitting, everyone in that stadium was having so much fun and never wanted to leave. His set spanned his whole career. From his brand new single "Out Last Night" to an old classic "She Thinks My Tractors Sexy" he didn't miss a single song. I drove over two hours to see these guys. It was well worth it. Overall this whole concert was truly a spectacular experience. We seen two of the biggest superstars in the music industry in one night. Kenny promised it would not be the last time in Edmonton. We sure hope not, because I would recommend this concert to anyone. Not just sole country fans. Music aside, they two performers have perfected being great entertainers. You could tell they both loved what they do, and have a great time doing it. Overall and amazing performance, and I will them again, no question about it.

  • Chesney & Swift--AWESOME!!

    by homesteaders92 on 2009-07-10Commonwealth Stadium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

Taylor Swift was superb in her performance. Such a young age and so full of talent. Kenny Chesney--what can you say other than excellent, awesome, thoroughly enjoyable and what an entertainer. No wonder he repeatedly is awarded Entertainer of the Year.

  • Loved It

by steiner on 2009-07-10Commonwealth Stadium - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5

The weather was great, the music was better. I loved all of the performers.

  • Kenny Chesney kicked butt!!!

by Zuzzi on 2009-07-10Commonwealth Stadium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

It was an amazing concert, even though we had tickets in the upper deck and the temperature was below seasonal it was more than worth a little cold weather. I have not attended a concert at commonwealth for a long time and was amazed at the stage setup and big screens. Taylor Swift has amazing stage presence for such a young artist and she did not let the audience down. She had them eating out of her hand and she knew it. Edmonton has a reputation for being a party concert city and we were there in true spirit and ready to PARTY. The vocals could have been a little louder as the band tended to drown out the singer's voice, not sure if that was because we were in the upper deck. But that was the only slight complaint I heard. Thank you for bringing Kenny to rock our city with his country music heart and soul!!!!

  • Kenny was even better live!!!

by Goose on 2009-07-10Commonwealth Stadium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

Concert was excellent---loved Taylor Swift, hard to believe she's only 19---Kenny was amazing, great entertainer...Wish he could of sang longer

  • Kenny Chesney rocks, Taylor Swift is awesome!!

by Buttercup on 2009-07-10Commonwealth Stadium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

The concert itself was absolutely amazing!! We loved Kenny and Talyor both. She has such good stage presence for such a young girl it is totally amazing!!! Kenny is such a performer, I just love him...his energy....his smile...his whole personality is just so much fun!! The only thing I'd have to say is that the entire show was too long. We really did not enjoy the first 2 acts, and then the 1/2 hour break between each performer just made for a very long evening. All in all, we loved the show and would go back to see Taylor or Kenny anytime!!!

  • Kenny brings meaning to "Summer Time"

by Shaye on 2009-07-10Commonwealth Stadium - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5

Overall it was a really good experience. Even with it being about 10 degrees, the atmosphere was great. There were some sound issues at first but once they were resolved it was awesome. Kenny Chesney put on an absolutely fantastic show - upbeat and tons of fun.

  • High Energy, Low sound...

by debedee on 2009-07-10Commonwealth Stadium - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5

The artists at this event were definitely entertainers however with the size of this venue any sense of connection with them was lost (along with much of the music lost due to the openness.) Any other issues would be related to Commonwealth Stadium (too many stairs for persons with reduced mobility, no shelter to protect from weather) and not the artists themselves. Overall, this was an enjoyable event but am happy to have purchased the $25.00 tickets as peers who bought more expensive seats did not feel they got their money's worth.

  • Kenny & Taylor are Amazing!!

by Burt on 2009-07-10Commonwealth Stadium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was amazing! Can't wait until Kenny comes back to Edmonton! It was 4 hours of great entertainment. Definitely worth every penny! We loved JD and Jake too!
