About

Kenny Chesney has been one of country music’s most prolific crossover artists for almost the entirety of his three-decade career. The Tennessee native has not only notched 17 No. 1s on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart, but has topped the mainstream Billboard 200 nine times, and has sold 35 million albums worldwide. He also stands as one of the highest-grossing artists in live music, raking in more than $1.2 billion and selling 17.9 million tickets across his touring career, according to Billboard Boxscore. After kicking off his solo career with 1994’s In My Wildest Dreams, Chesney nabbed his first of 23 No. 1 singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart with “She’s Got It All” from 1997’s I Will Stand. His 2003 single “There Goes My Life” remained atop the chart for seven weeks, while 2009’s “Out Last Night” marked his career peak on the Billboard Hot 100, reaching No. 16. Chesney earned his first No. 1 album of the new decade with 2020’s Here and Now. In 2025, Chesney performed a sold-out run at Sphere Las Vegas, and will return to the groundbreaking venue in 2026.

  • Camera's

by Buddyfriend on 2009-07-10Commonwealth Stadium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

You always hear that you can't bring camera's in to a concerts. but lastnight there where letting them in. And I was really disappointed that I didn't take mind. but you never know what to do take it or not. So I didn't get any pictures of sweet Kenny. Not happy about that. People in front of use started to stand on there chairs, so we had to stand on the chairs too so we could see. And thought I was going to fall off, when the drunks where hitting my chair.

  • Kenny Chesney & Taylor Swift

by Grammy on 2009-07-10Commonwealth Stadium - EdmontonRating: 3 out of 5

For the most part the concert was awesome. However I was very disappointed with the sound system, especially for Taylor Swift. You couldn't hear most of her songs...you knew what song it was because of the band. Kenny's sound was better but it still wasn't up to "CONCERT" standards. Doesn't anyone check the sound system to ensure that it can be heard properly all over the stadium? If you can't have a good sound system throughout the stadium then CONCERTS SHOULD NOT BE HELD THERE! Don't get me wrong..Kenny & Taylor put on a great show, BUT THE SOUND SYSTEM SUCKED!

  • Kenny Chesney put on an amazin show

    by Sheno528 on 2009-07-10Commonwealth Stadium - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5

It was an amazing show, Taylor Swift was great and so meaningful and grateful to everyone. Kenny Chesney is hot and amazing in concert.

  • Kenny and Taylor = AMAZING

by enhamilton on 2009-07-10Commonwealth Stadium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

What a fantastic concert! Two outstanding performers delivered strong, entertaining performances. A few notes: Commonwealth not such a great place for sound especially when it's windy. As well, I wished that Taylor Swift had performed a little longer, it felt more like she was an opener than a co-headliner. But that being said it was an amazing, fun, incredible night. And good on both performers for not whining about how freakin' cold it was- cause I know that I couldn't feel my toes!

  • Chesney show!

by Bets on 2009-07-10Commonwealth Stadium - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5

The concert was great however the accoustics weren't the greatest. We were sitting up higher in the stadium and at times during the concert it was difficult to hear the vocals. I'm not sure if it was the wind or what. It was very difficult to hear most of JD Bixby's singing or speaking but the music was loud and clear it just drown out the vocals at times. Taylor Swift and Kenny Chesney was better but there were still times that we could only hear the music and very little vocals.

  • Kenny Chesney with Taylor Swift

    by CJ0069 on 2009-07-10Commonwealth Stadium - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5

I loved Kenny he put on a great show. Kept the crowd on their feet just dancing and screaming out the lyrics back at him. He was totally sincere and loyal to his country roots. Taylor acted too much, she needs to be herself ...it was like she was in front of a mirror all night long rehersaing her looks and moves. Don't get me wrong she does have talnet, no doubt about it...but less play up and more real would work way better for her.

  • Kenny Chesney was UNBELEIVABLE!!!

    by M1974 on 2009-07-10Commonwealth Stadium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

This was probably one of the best concerts we've ever been to! Taylor Swift was awesome and Kenny Chesney was unbeleivable!! The whole cocnert was amazing!

  • Kenny and Taylor were outstanding!

    by Sunshine1 on 2009-07-10Commonwealth Stadium - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5

All the performers were great. A couple of the downfalls were Jaydee Bixby's audio and Taylor Swift's audio at times. The other downfall was the drunken people standing up in the stands making it difficult for people to see Kenny Chesney.

  • Best ever.

by Guys on 2009-07-10Commonwealth Stadium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

Unbelievable night. Great concert, great songs. Great time.

  • Great Performances!

by Rochelle on 2009-07-10Commonwealth Stadium - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5

This was my first concert and I was very hapy with it. Taylor Swift and Kenny Chesney were both excellent. The only downside was how cold it was outside.

  • kenny and taylor

by country on 2009-07-10Commonwealth Stadium - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5

they were both excellent. The only think is taylor's first three songs the music was to load and it was hard to hear her beautyful voice. So maybe they should look into that.

  • Great vocals but poor sound

by TravelGirl on 2009-07-10Commonwealth Stadium - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5

I've been to a couple of concerts in Commonwealth stadium now and I think they need to work out their sound system before hosting any more musical events. The microphones sometimes weren't on when they were supposed to be and the music overtook the artist's voice.

  • Kenny Chesney was fantastic!!!!!

by sahm on 2009-07-10Commonwealth Stadium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

Being able to watch 3 openign acts was a treat - it's nice to see a top country music superstar give the upcoming stars a chance to shine. Watching Kenny Chesney was an absolue treat he is such and amazing artist with awesome talent!

  • Kenny & Taylor

by FRCountryRoots on 2009-07-10Commonwealth Stadium - EdmontonRating: 3 out of 5

I would recommend seeing Kenny at least once in your life - great act, though not much change from previous show! Commonwealth - needs to do better sound check before showing ... sound was off ... I do not pay to hear that the speakers are not working... Emcee's did well THANKS!

  • One of the best shows ever.

by keyscot on 2009-07-10Commonwealth Stadium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

Let me start by saying we had amazing seats (standing) in the Sandbox area inside the stage resting our arms right on the catwalk. Our vantage point was awesome. We had Kenny , Taylor and the rest right in front of us all night. The stage show and sound was great where we were. Taylor Swift is a polished young talent that relates so well with her audience. And what can I say about Kenny Chesney. He can entertain and his set list and vocals were right on the money. He also has a very large and talented band to back him up. All in all a great concert experience. I can understand how the people way up in the nose bleeds would not have experienced the same sound quality as this can be an issue at an outdoor stadium so I feel fortunate to be where we were.

  • Taylor Swift rocks

by Sand on 2009-07-10Commonwealth Stadium - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5

It was great to see such a young person with so much character sing and perform. Even though the weather wasn't good it still was hot.

  • Amazing Concert

by Shelly on 2009-07-10Commonwealth Stadium - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5

All four artists did amazing. I was kept entertained throughout the entire performance and loved every minute of the concert. Taylor Swift was so good interacted really well with the crowd. Kenny Chesney was everything I expected and more A++

  • Kenny BABE

He was simple awesome, sound wasn't the best at times, but Kenny ROCKED!!!

  • KENNY AWESOME, TAYLOR SOUND SUCKED

by NSET on 2009-07-10Commonwealth Stadium - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5

I went to the Taylor Swift and Kenny Chesney show. Both performers were amazing however the sound for Taylor Swift really sucked and made her performance disappointing. Kenny did an amazing job the sound was great, he was great. If you lkie his music he is a must see. The only main complaint of the night was the cranky old woman that got made at all the people for dancing and being "too loud" ok guys this is a concert. I had an amazing time and would go back to see him any time.

  • Kenny Chesney was good, Taylor Swift was unreal!

by WeekendWarrior on 2009-07-10Commonwealth Stadium - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5

A huge outdoor concert is a blast and for the first time in days, we had blue skies and sunshine. The tickets were a gift to my sixteen-year old daughter and her friend, and if you asked them, they thought the concert was AMAZING!! I had to work in one of the concessions and only caught Taylor Swift and from the top of the concrete overhangs. The sound up there was horrible, and although I am getting up there in years, I am not that deaf yet. When I watched from outside the confines of the second deck, the sound was very good. As for Taylor Swift, for a young lady, she is insanely talented from a writing, recording, engineering, and now designing of stage sets standpoint. New to me was how she performs and that was the most entertaining concert I have been at in a long, long time. It was an honour to be there and see her and anyone who did not go, missed out. The good news is that she is so young, that she is likely to be around for a long, long time.
