About

Kenny Chesney has been one of country music’s most prolific crossover artists for almost the entirety of his three-decade career. The Tennessee native has not only notched 17 No. 1s on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart, but has topped the mainstream Billboard 200 nine times, and has sold 35 million albums worldwide. He also stands as one of the highest-grossing artists in live music, raking in more than $1.2 billion and selling 17.9 million tickets across his touring career, according to Billboard Boxscore. After kicking off his solo career with 1994’s In My Wildest Dreams, Chesney nabbed his first of 23 No. 1 singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart with “She’s Got It All” from 1997’s I Will Stand. His 2003 single “There Goes My Life” remained atop the chart for seven weeks, while 2009’s “Out Last Night” marked his career peak on the Billboard Hot 100, reaching No. 16. Chesney earned his first No. 1 album of the new decade with 2020’s Here and Now. In 2025, Chesney performed a sold-out run at Sphere Las Vegas, and will return to the groundbreaking venue in 2026.

The sound was terrible. I could hardly hear the lyrics and i could hear the fans singing over Taylor Swift and Kenny Chesney. Not happy that i paid so much for such bad sound. I could not see the stage very well either.

  • Taylor was awesome - Kenny was great

    by countrygirl1 on 2009-07-10Commonwealth Stadium - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5

I don't know who should have been billed the headliner; Taylor Swift is awesome and Kenny Chesney was great... both were completely professional and there to please the crowd...certainly not prima donnas.... will see them again if they come again

  • kenny & taylor = magical

Absolutely fantastic concert...little dissapointed that we could not see what was going on inside the stage ....we had side seats...maybe next time use the space the stadium provides and expand the stage a bit. :) Otherwise was a night to remember!

The show was great and worth waiitng for. All the entertainers performed above and beyond. The seats we had ($149.00) were not worth the money. We could not make out alot of what was being said. I realize that an out door setting is different than indoors for what you can hear, but this was a huge let down. Most of what Taylor said, I could not tell you.

KENNY AND TAYLOR WERE AMAZING...... GREAT PERFORMANCES!!!!!!

  • Not Worth the Money

by Nadine on 2009-07-10Commonwealth Stadium - EdmontonRating: 2 out of 5

I've been to MANY concerts in my life and this was one of the worst I've seen. I think Kenny and Taylor came to play to the thousand people on the floor in front of them but forgot about the rest of the thirty thousand of us in the stands. The sound was extremely poor for both shows. Kenny cut in and out and you couldn't understand a word he said when he spoke to the crowd. Not only was the sound poor, it was way too quiet!! I play louder music in my home! As well, the screens that were at the sides of the stage should have been MUCH larger in my opinion. That being said - you could tell that both Kenny and Taylor were consumate performers. They both had a very slick, very well known "routine" down pat. They are crowd pleasers. Unfortunately, this is the most money I've ever paid to see a concert and it was a huge disappointment. I left before the end of Kenny's set. It just wasn't as fun as I thought it was going to be. And by the amount of people I saw leaving at the same time (and before) as me, I know I'm not the only one who felt the same way about this concert.

  • Amazing!

by Creamer on 2009-07-10Commonwealth Stadium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

Taylor Swift put on an amazing show and it was very enjoyable.

  • Chesney and Swift - Too cold but otherwise great!

by Melbosa on 2009-07-10Commonwealth Stadium - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5

Was well worth the $25 seats, and probably a lot more. The 4 acts were great. If only the weather was more accommodating. Froze!

  • YOU GET YOUR YEE HAW!!

GREATEST 5 HOURS OF MY LIFE!!! Everyone was amazing and awesome!!

  • Kenny incredible

by Shelley on 2009-07-10Commonwealth Stadium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

It was awesome! The energy Kenny - had from the minute he stepped on the step until the time he was done - was amazing! I thought Taylor performance was not as good - she was into the drama - playing with her hair waiting for the crowd attention. She was ok but thought Kenny stole the show by far.

  • Kenny and Taylor are hot

by rockingranny on 2009-07-10Commonwealth Stadium - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5

Great concert. Sound sucked for the first three performers. Taylor was great but the sound was awful. Sound got much better when Kenny came out. Loved it.

  • Taylor was the real star

    by ladiesman217 on 2009-07-10Commonwealth Stadium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

Taylor Swift totally out shined Kenny. He was still good. But Taylor is clearly the better performer and better loved artist. I wish she was the headliner.

Although their performances were topnotch the sound at the venue was terrible. Half of the words were inaudible and the music faded in and out. Unfortunate!!

  • Kenny Chesney and Taylor Swift were AWESOME!

This was a fantastic show. Kenny Chesney and Taylor Swift were both amazing. Super performers!

Both acts were awesome, really liked how they joined together in the end to sing John Mellencamps' Hurts So Good

  • Chesney and Swift

by AlbertaGal on 2009-07-10Commonwealth Stadium - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5

Hi.. I would recommend the show, but I would not recommend the seats I had. The sound was horrible horrible horrible.. did I mention horrible? Thankfully the staff must have realized just how bad it was as they moved us down to the 11th row! So thanks for that. Taylor Swift - I've seen her three times now in Edmonton. She's very talented and beautiful but it's time for some new material or change it up a bit, but always a great joy to watch her. Chesney - seems like a great guy to party with! Hope he comes back to Edmonton again soon! Overall a great time
