The performance could have gone on for a lot longer as I really enjoyed it! Costumes were great especially for Lola and the Angels . Orchestra music at times overpowered the singers--a pet peeve of mine!!
One of the best musicals I have ever seen! Hilariously funny and the musical score was amazing!

Really fun. Although it was hard to understand a lot of the time we could still follow the story. Set and costumes amazing. Music was worth dancing with!
I've seen the movie several times and really like it. The live show is even better in many ways. There is a surprising amount of comedy mixed in with incredibly poignant moments. The choreography is amazingly tight and effective. A lot of action happens in different settings and the scene changes are smooth to the point of being unnoticeable most of the time. The actors were all terrific and Lola's part was played magnificently by the understudy. All in all I cannot recommend this show highly enough.
What a great show, I didn't want it to end. The talent of the performers was unbelievable, the music was fabulous. I would see this show again.
Got tickets to take my mom and her best friend for a Christmas gift. We all enjoyed the show. The songs, costumes, sets were all amazing.
While I enjoyed the show I found the music too loud for the performers. It was hard to make out the words of the songs and follow along with the plot. The performers were outstanding.
Absolutely loved everything about this show...the music, the dancing, the singing and of course, the boots! Very uplifting. Can't help but leave with a smile on your face!
Amazing performances by all actors when I saw the show in Ottawa at 2pm on Dec31.
As fans of the original story and independent British film, we were thrilled when the Kinky Boots franchise hit the road in the Broadway Across Canada series. And no better a night than New Year's Eve in Ottawa to attend. This was the production's next to last performance in Ottawa before moving on; but you would not have known this by the energy exuded by the cast and execution of set changes by the crew. Impeccable sound and sightlines from the Amphitheatre. The young cast brought to life the story of the embattled British Shoe Factory and how it found its 'mojo' by playing to a niche market - Drag Queens - and how a very precocious, yet sensitive Lead Queen by the name of Lola (Simon), helped change the way of thinking of a group of working class, Midland Brits. There is a message to this show, but it is not likely the message you expect. An absolute must-see for the great music and lyrics, and the brilliant comedic performances of the cast. This is NOT a show that is smothered in special effects - it is, however, smothered in great music and brilliant choreography - and - considering the subject matter, it is suitable for all ages. Don't miss it when it shows up near you!
The music and acting were second to none. The costumes were beautuful and the sex was definitely in the boots.
The main character"Lola" was played by a very talented actor . ...all the cast made their characters believable.......this was a very entertaining show with the moral around acceptance and being who you truly are. wish we could see it again.
Excellent story, music, dancing and acting! Was very positively surprised and captured by the production and would see it again.
I found the show to be top notch and well done. It was a good show no matter what evening it was. But it was a perfect fit for New Years eve and later fireworks on the hill
Fantastic play! Dynamic!! Music and books are both amazing. Dashing production and most of all, they condensed the 12 step program into 6 easy to do's that will life for everyone so much better! Loved the play!
When I first tried to get tickets, it was difficult to get them online. After three days I finally got some and it was in the Balcony. I thought well maybe it won't be so bad. Well to my surprise it was actually quite good seating. We were able to see everything and quite clearly I might add. The show was incredible and if it ever comes back to Ottawa, I will definitely go see it again. If it ever comes out on DVD I will be adding it to my collection of musicals. I recommend this musical to anybody. Everybody was clapping to the beat of the music and we were also dancing in our seats. I cannot say enough about it. Go see for yourself.
Went to this show with my wife. Wasn't sure what to expect, but I was impressed by the very powerful performances, strong script and catchy music. We didn't take the kids, but easily could have. Great show.
This is a must see event with a great story line embedded in the songs and overall theme which comes together as it progresses to the end.
Story was excellent.!! The sound quality in the first half was off -some speech was muffled - not clear, especially on the left hand side of the stage (facing the stage) !! I thought it was me until my daughter who is 40 commented on the same concerns. We also hurt others around say the same thing. The supporting actor was awesome Loved the energy of the actors.
