When I saw that Lea Michele was coming to Toronto, I was extremely excited. She truly has one of the most beautiful voices in music and I was not disappointed seeing her live. It really was an intimate atmosphere since Massey Hall holds just over 2,000. She had a piano player, violinist, cello player, bass player and drummer accompanying her so all of the songs were stripped down. She spoke to the audience a lot, told us stories and made us feel like she valued having us as fans. She also sang a nice collection of songs from her albums Louder and Places and of course Glee. Her voice is absolutely stunning and for that alone, I would see her again.
However, there was one major disappointment. The entire concert was only about an hour and 10 minutes - and that includes chatting with the audience. I love connecting with artists I go to see, but I find ticket prices just keep rising and artists keep playing shorter shows. I attended this concert with my mom and we each paid over $70 for our tickets with all fees (and those weren't even the most expensive seats). I was extremely disappointed with how short it was. Fans do not want to feel ripped off, and I felt slightly ripped off. If Lea tours again, I strongly urge her to play a longer show. Even playing 4 or 5 more songs could have made a difference (which was definitely possible with both albums and Glee).
Yes, I would recommend this because the concert itself was beautiful and fans should see her live at least once. However, if the length doesn't improve, I don't know if I'd go again.
