Sitting in third row with my video going man it was a great show
It was a night out basically... nothing earth shattering just an average show. Would I go again?? No probably not.
Wow, I would never have expected the singers to sound so close to the original. And the musicians - outstanding. There was not only great music but a lot of fun too. They had us dancing in the stands. Well worth the ticket price.
We enjoyed the event very much. They involved and engaged the crowd, the show was adequate in length. Would recommend this performance to friends and family that would enjoy that style of music.
I loved the show from start to finish! The band, the singers, choice of songs & artists they featured, costumes & commentary were all really great! The only point where I might suggest any improvement, was during the performance of the men, when the lead singer was backed up by the other men. The lead singer was often drowned out, as the back up voices were a bit too loud. The crowd engagement was very good, getting an “older audience” on their feet isn’t so easy, but The Legends did it well.
Terrific concert. Particularly enjoyed Four Tops, Temptations and The Supremes. Length of concert certainly gives one their money's worth. Musicians are excellent. Emcee was very engaging. Interaction with the audience was a nice touch. Definitely would attend another show by the Legends of Motown in the future.
A good show. Many of the most know Motown hits. Good performers. Them get you up aisle dancing if you want to ;)
Performers were bang in, great personalities and lives that you got to meet them at the end and give them a real Winnipeg hug of appreciation!
Loved it! What I missed though was more of the famous Motown songs . There were lot of songs that I had never heard before and I grew up with Motown music.
The women were awesome. Band was great. The men were okay - I was expecting a little bit more from the male singers.
With a sold out crowd, many of whom were seniors. snow should have been cleared from the approaches to and in front of the theater.
Well done tribute act stayed true to the originals just like the recordings. I wasn't too sure what to expect but it exceeded my expectations. I recommend this show and would surely see the again if they swing by this area again.
The first hour of the performance had tertible sound. You could not hear the vocals. It was a sif the mics were turned way down. After intermission it improved. Vocals were so so. Lots of pitch problems. It could have been a really great show, but it was not!
The major downfall was the sound in the first act, the microphones were definitely not working well. We were in the top balcony.
For at least half the show you could barely hear the lead singer. For the price I thought it would perhaps be a cleaner more seemless rehearsed show. The stand out star of the show to me was the female lead. Amazing. They sang a lot of favorites. I never want to cut down artists that are way more talented than myself but I think they need to get a better sound engineer and a bit more rehearsal
My wife and I attend 100+ concerts every year and this was only the second time in 40 years that we have walked out of a show after the first set. I grew up in the Detroit area during the sixties/seventies and love Motown music. Even had the opportunity to meet Stevie Wonder. Unfortunately the sound was so poor that we compared it to attending a high school gym show. The "all white" band was not tight and the vocals were tough to hear. Big disappointment - basically threw $178 into the wind.
Unfortunately, the sound system wasn't very good. The singing sounded tinny and distorted, like when a speaker is turned up too loud. But it wasn't that it was turned up too loud! So that took away from our enjoyment of the show. So although we enjoyed having a night out, it isn't a show we'd recommend to anyone.
Preempt year good singers and concept. Too bad we couldn’t really hear them. The sound was very bad. Personally I would have fired the sound engineer. I even went to the sound booth at intermission to complain. Got sent to the coat check only to find that there was a whole line up of people there to complain!!!
Overall 6 out of 10 Several v. popular Motown groups ergo many songs were not included likely because licensing fees were considered too high. Example: Diana Ross, Supremes
A good night out celebrating the Motown sound. The performers were beautifully dressed and talented, especially the trio of ladies, and the gentlemen brought some great moves. As well, they were all working to make it happen. However, the show did not measure up to some other ones at this venue and others. The sound quality was not consistent and the staging was fairly minimal.
