LEON BRIDGES IN CONCERT:
Leon Bridges sings soul and gospel straight from the heart, forming an instant connection with audiences wherever he plays. His smoothly cool vocals recall Sam Cooke and Otis Redding, and fans can’t help but be transported to the ‘50s and ‘60s R&B heyday as he belts out songs like “Coming Home”, “Smooth Sailin’”, and “Better Man”. His backing band completes the Stax-inspired sound of these songs with reedy organs, melodic basslines, blaring sax, and female backing vocals. Leon Bridges is ready to bring his own R&B style and effortless croon on tour, much to the delight of fans aross the country.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Leon Bridges was born in Atlanta, GA in 1989, though he grew up in Fort Worth, TX. He began writing songs at a young age, learning simple guitar chords to accompany his lyrics. He was working as a dishwasher and playing open mic nights when he happened to befriend White Denim guitarist Austin Jenkins. With Jenkins’ assistance and vintage equipment, the singer was able to cut demo versions of “Coming Home” and “Lisa Sawyer” in 2014. After receiving over 800,000 streams of these songs, the singer signed with Columbia Records, promptly releasing “Coming Home” in 2015 as his first single. An album of the same name arrived in June and garnered critical acclaim for the songwriter’s classic style and poised songwriting. With fans eagerly awaiting a follow-up to his smash debut, Bridges continues to amass an ever-growing fanbase with his spiritually moving live performances on tour.
Amazing production, had a blast! Great music and vibe
The best of the best. Leon never disappoints. Will always keep coming back as long as he’s performing. Love you LB!
Such an incredible artist. What an awesome voice, completely filled the stadium with their music. He had the audience engaged from the minute he walked on the stage.
Good concert. Leon was engaged and performed well. The backup singers and musicians were great. However, the music was too loud. Had difficulty hearing the melody.
Leon Bridges was fantastic but the venue was wrong, he needed to be at Massey Hall Scotiabank was too big and not as intimate.. which his music requires
Leon was amazing, his music is full of soul and creativity. I would definitely see him again but never again at Scotiabank. The only thing that made this a poor experience was the venue (Scotiabank arena). I had floor seats and there were not nearly enough washrooms/vendors open for the event, literally everyone on the floor only had access to 1 set of washrooms and 1 bar. Leon went on around 915/930 and the bar closed at 10pm….with how long the lines were you only had the opportunity to go once. Plus Leon stayed on until 1130! Terrible venue experience, never seeing a concert at Scotiabank again.
Worst venue but leon bridges still sounds amazing.
I'm a Leon Bridges fan who blocks out or says, "Alexa next song" Everytime one of his country has come on. This is my own fault... So I thought the concert was boring, the "Woah" girls doing that slow flower girl dance infront of me was madd annoying, and I am a bit bitter his rnb hits didn't seem to bring much life out of him when he performed them. Didn't enjoy the show but so happy i didn't drive down to Detroit to see him, which I was willing to do. He's definitely no Maxwell - that was a concert that will change you.
First time seeing Little Dragon and definitely won’t be the last. Great sound and vibe. Leon Bridges gave us what I expect from Leon. Great vocals and showmanship, funky vibe etc. Both acts in my opinion, would be better received at a less sterile arena environment. Loved seeing Leon at RBC Echo Beach for instance. My only complaint was the total buzzkill of turning on full lights in between acts. People were in a great mood and vibe after Little Dragon and turning on all lights negated that at least for me. Otherwise had a great time!
Amaszinggggggg. His voice is so full it’s incredible & the control he has???? I’m so happy i found him 🫶
The concert was AMAZING - only negative ..... I could have listened to him sing for another few hours.
I was expecting a better show. But something was off with the sound quality with Leon's mic. The opening act (little dragon) sounded great, but when Leon took the stage his voice had a muffled sound....but muffled might not be the right word....it just wasn't clear.
Leon Bridges was exceptional live. Back up singers and band of musicians were fantastic supporting cast to Leon Bridges. Very engaging performer with a powerful voice.
The highlight of his performance was his background vocalists. He was behind in every song he sang (the band seemed confused as he wasn’t on tempo) and the crowd was occasionally booing because it was just awkward to watch. Slurring his words indistinguishably was so sad to witness since his voice is so beautiful. As a fan of almost 8 years I was really hoping it wasn’t the worst concert experience I’ve had to endure as an adult. It was brutal. Drinks should have been paid for by the venue all things considered.
Leon Bridges is a TRUE artist, bringing back what music is all about. He is energetic and engages with the crowd. I will be seeing Leon the next time he is in T.O.
Leon Bridges be is great live, a must see concert! So much fun and positive energy.
Great sound, visuals and venue was nice. Visibility could improve but great that it wasn't over crowded. Ending was a bit lackluster. But overall great show ... Definitely going to see him again.
My gal and I enjoyed ourselves immensely before during and after our experience in meeting with King Leon. Lauren, our host was superb and charming. She took us through to Leon's personal items so we could pose with Leon's guitar and sift through his other items. Amazing. We were then taken to the front of the stage. Just the 7 of us. That was it. My gal and I along with 5 other fans. It was very personal. It felt like Leon and his band were performing 3 songs just for us. Later, Leon joined us for photos. The man was very pleasant and cool. We shook hands. I commented on his flashy shoes and he did the same. We were dead center and directly in front of the stage. His performance was soulful and magical. Thank you Lauren and Leon for our cherished experience. Much love from Deb and Mike and from Canada.
Leon and his band did an amazing job! They sounded incredible and were a pleasure to watch
the whole outdoor part was awesome! the opener was weird and not a fan.... not the kind of music you want to experience live, more like the coffee shop elevator tunes. leon was really fun tho! super weird and funny. i wish he’d talk more about his experience tho, i like when artists give you a little preview on how they got to where they are or anything
