    Amazing!

by Karen on 2024-04-08Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

I really didn't know what to expect. I bought tickets for my husband's birthday, knowing he would really enjoy it. I think I enjoyed it as much, if not more than him! It was so well done, I learned a great deal, and the music was fantastic. I will definitely keep my eyes open for further productions

    Leonard and Joni

by HH on 2024-04-08Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

The relationship only lasted 4 weeks…the woman who played Joni was great. The man who played Leonard was…meh…wrong voice

    Fabulous evening of Music

by PJ on 2024-04-08Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

Such a fab evening, we were a group of 7 and we all enjoyed it so much. Joe Nolan and Dana Wylie were amazing in their renditions of Leonard and Joni. Joe had a great voice and told a good story about Leonard. Dana had a powerhouse voice in representing Joni. And the band...wow.....so good, especially loved the saxophone. A super enjoyable evening

    A Beautiful Tribute!

by Ambrosia Girl on 2024-04-08Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

It was so lovely to attend a show that captured a story that I'd never heard before through captivating narrative and timeless music. What I particularly loved was that this was not about performers impersonating legendary musicians. Right from the start, it was made clear that the principle singers were musicians in their own right, singing songs that they loved and telling a story that was unfamiliar to many people. Quite honestly, I didn't know what kind of a show I was going to see, but I was expecting something quite different. The show turned out to be a very pleasant surprise and earned two standing ovations. I, for one, give those out sparingly, but was enthusiastically among the first on my feet to thank the excellent singers and musicians. They put on a polished performance and I left the theatre feeling both nostalgic and more informed. Really impressed!

    Meh

by Amaya on 2024-04-08Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

The band was talented and I did learn a few interesting things about Leonard and Joni but the production quality was subpar. The 'multimedia experience' consisted of a slideshow of pics backdropping the band. It didn't seem like there was any thought put into having this presentation logically follow the 'plot' of the performance, by the second half when a bunch of the pictures started coming up multiple times the whole thing really started to feel like someone phoned it in. I doubt I'd go to another performance in this series.

excellent musical journey of Mitchell and Cohen

by armchair artist on 2024-04-08Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

Two excellent vocalists provided stellar renditions of music interspersed with interesting career highlights of two Canadian singing legends. The show disappeared much too quickly. I left more spellbound by the life and times of Mitchell and Cohen.

    Sheer perfection!

by TN on 2024-04-08Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

I never expected anything so amazing. Both the singers and the band couldn’t have been hand picked any better. They were perfect without actually being “Joni and Leonard”. “Joni’s” vocal range and “Leonard’s” interpretation and vocals brought so much emotion forward in me. Their masterful storytelling and tone brought it all together. I’ve never left a performance so satisfied.

    Amazing show

by BKaren on 2024-04-08Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

This show was amazing from intro to encore. I learned so much that I didn’t know about Joni and about Leonard, I saw pictures that brought their story to life and the musicianship is just amazing. Imagine someone being able to hit the notes Joni wrote and to give weight to the words that Leonard. Nothing short of spectacular highly recommended. I will book to see any other show these amazing producers choose to do.

    Cohen & Mitchel

by Bono on 2024-04-08Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

Very interesting topic. Female lead singer was exceptional. She could have doubled for Joni Mitchell. Unfortunately, the male lead singer was not even close to Leonard Cohen. Otherwise a satisfying performance.

    An engaging evening

by East of Edmonton on 2024-04-08Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

An engaging evening that introduced to the world of creative writers and performers. The vocals from Dana Wylie were outstanding and I look forward to catching her at other performances. The performance would have benefitted from a dedicated narrator, and skipping over the ' we are not pretending to be them' narrative - let the audience get absorbed in the moment and the story. The band members played outstanding. Only the set that presented Leonards last recording was set too loud to be comfortable.

Loved the music, why I went.

by Holly on 2024-04-07Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

The show was amazing. I do wish there were more pictures that were unique and original. The voices were amazing and the story true to heart. Went for the music was not disappointed.

    Enjoyable evening

by D. on 2024-04-07Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

I grew up with the songs of Joni Mitchell and Leonard Cohen, I have seen both in concert and been blown away so came to the theatre curious and hopeful that this show could tell a story and make the songs shine. It did a really good job. I loved that Dana Wylie and Joe Nolan were themselves, both talented singer songwriters. They channeled both Joni and Leonard keeping true to both the legends and themselves. And the band was superb. Kudos to Joe for a compelling 1000 Kisses Deep. Hope this show gets to more cities. Congrats to all involved for a great show.

    Took me back

by Allan on 2024-04-07Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

From the opening song to the encore this show had me on the edge of my seat. Cried many times throughout with the emotions their music evoked. Not sure what Leonard’s lyrics mean sometimes but they are always perfect.

    Great show!

by McTavish on 2024-04-07Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

Did not quite know what to expect but I was very impressed with this production (excellent musicians and lead singers). It was a showcase of two great talents briefly together but with a lifelong connection. This production should definitely continue.

    Superb voices

by Jocelyne on 2024-04-07Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

A wonderful trip down memory lane!! The band was great, but at times overwhelmed Dana Whiley, who has a superb voice. There were more than a few times when I could not hear and/or understand the words she was singing. Joe Nolan has an equally suberb voice and did a great job throughout. Thanks for a grest evening!!

    Best show, hands down!

by Dee on 2024-04-07Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

Best show, ever! The music, the stories, the voices, the way it was presented ... it blew me away! It might be the best show I've ever seen. On a side note; the Jube seating plan on your app is confusing; not clear at all, so that what I thought was an aisle seat (X 21,22) was in fact against a wall. For my mobility-impaired guest, it was a devastating error.
