by JPLB on 2017-07-10National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - OttawaMy wife and I just loved this presentation of this group, 'Les 7 doigts de la main'. We have seen several of their shows and they were all very special. This presentation did not disappoint. It is funny. It is entertaining. Arrive early and stay for the special treats.
Rating: 4 out of 5by NYC123 on 2017-07-10National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa The last time I saw this troupe, the production was more lyrical - original music and light played an important role in highlighting exceptional acrobatics. In this production Cuisine & Confessions, there is a more stage play quality, with each performer narrating their most poignant memories via a breakfast dish portal. There is also plenty of interaction with the audience, both scripted and organic. The production ends with the audience sharing banana bread and pasta which has been cooked before them during the show. A WOW moment for sure. The feats of athleticism are extraordinary, with a couple of fails to make it honest. These displays are the reason I love Les 7 doigts de la main, and personally would prefer the older format of creativity to this hybrid play.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Beyond good
by rlady on 2012-06-25National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - OttawaAbsolutely astounding! Beautiful, edgy, vibrant, humorous. Am looking forward to seeing other shows in the future. Would not think twice about recommending....except to maybe my grandmother? The music might be a little too contemporary, edgy for 80 plus....but maybe not. So, so, so good.

Rating: 5 out of 5 Not to be missed
by Tinkerbellina on 2012-06-24National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - OttawaPSY had all of the elements of a Cirque du Soleil show - creativity, excellent acrobatics, humor, unexpected twists, and incredible ingenuity. At less than half the cost of a Cirque du Soleil show, it is well worth the price. This show cannot disappoint.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Go twice, and bring your friends!
by dub1 on 2012-06-23National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - OttawaI've seen 7 Doigts four times, and this is one of the best. The opening male solo trapeze, the crowded street scene, the group club throwing were great, and everything an acrobatic circus should be; and the German wheel with tabla music, the male adagios, and the 'husband and wife' vertical pole dancers that were jaw-droppingly amazing, physically beautiful, and a bt scary. Like the show theme, it suffered a bit from multiple personality disorder; there were some very weak bits which I usually enjoy; the hand balance, the vertical rope. Not being bilingual, I missed a lot of the banter, and the knife-throwing was really weak, so i would give it 4++. I would love to see some silk dancers or more tumbling. But that's nit-picking. 7 Doigts are amazing! go twice and bring your friends!
