    John Hiatt was unbelievable

by jeanaay on 2010-06-30Massey Hall - Toronto

John was just superb. His voice is still great and he puts on a great show. Levon looks so sick now I couldn't take my eyes of him. Wasn't so fond of the music chosen by that band. They did a good job just not what I expected - not enough of his own stuff

    Absolutely Incredible!

    by MissJ2010 on 2010-06-30Massey Hall - Toronto

The concert was absolutely incredible. I have been waiting years to see Levon Helm in concert and was planning on driving down to Woodstock to see one of his Midnight Rambles but he came to Toronto first. I have never felt such happiness emanating from all of the members on stage, so happy to be there and just jamming together. Levon was all smiles and playing the drums as good as ever. When Amy Helm lead It Makes No Difference, it gave me shivers and brought a tears to my eyes, absolutely beautiful. I would definitely recommend seeing Levon in concert! I can't explain the feeling you get from being in the presence of Levon, you have to experience it for yourself. I have been to many, many concerts and this was the greatest concert experience I have ever had in my life. Thank you Levon and I am definitely coming down to Woodstock for a Midnight Ramble very soon!

    Helm hot, Hiatt not

by Dobro on 2010-06-30Massey Hall - Toronto

Levon Helm and his tight hot band with a wicked horn section, killer keyboardist and multi-instrumentalist, multi-talented lead guitar player/singer, rocked and rolled the house last night with its lively brand of New Orleans jump jazz, blues, rolling rock, and bump. At one point Helm abandoned his drum kit to embrace the mandolin and ended up doing a grinder dance, much to the delight of the full house crowd. No clothes were removed. The tingling Teresa Williams and the sumptuous Amy Helm-yes this family grows talent-built on the music bounty with their beautiful renditions of some of The Band's most memorable hits. John Hiatt was in terrific form. Great to see the years haven't taken an pinch of punch from this deeply talented singer songwriter's bite and blister. Major problem, though, the music mix was bottom bloated. So much bass amplification it drowned the whole set in a sea of sonic sludge.

    Gimme an F

by Russ123 on 2009-08-26Bethel Woods Center for the Arts - Bethel

The bands were great, a lot of original members. The sound wasn't loud enough at times. During Country Joe you could hardly hear him, a lot of crowd noise. The concert ran too late. Started at 5pm and I left at 11pm and missed Levon Helm. I had a 2 hour drive. I think they should end around 10pm and you still have to get out of the parking lot.

Heroes of Woodstock: Still groovy, 40 years later!

by GroovyGirl5 on 2009-08-17Bethel Woods Center for the Arts - Bethel

The Heroes of Woodstock concert was phenomenal. Over 8 hours of incredible performances by some of the legendary bands that played the original Woodstock concert 40 years ago. The crowd was a great mix, with a lot of original "guests" from back in the day...those people can still rock! Some bands had new talent in the group... Jefferson Starship and Big Brother and the Holding Company both have outstanding new female lead vocals who would do Grace Slick and Janis Joplin proud. These girls have SOUL! The spirit of the 60's reigned at the original site at Bethel Woods. Visit the museum if you get a chance...
