Lindsey was Amazing, Christine so so

by Arturo123 on 2017-07-25Park Theater at Monte Carlo Resort and Casino - Las Vegas

Hi all, Attended the Lindsey Buckingham / Christine McVie concert in Las Vegas in July 2017. Lindsey opened with "Trouble" followed by "Never Going Back Again" followed by another acoustic ballad from "Under the Skin" and at that point I had received everything I came for. He was absolutely fantastic. Christine McVie has lost a bit of her voice and to me she sounded off key in a couple of numbers. She just cannot compete with the energy, vocal and musical output of LB. He just never stopped throughout the whole show. What I found particularly annoying was the use of cell phones for video purposes during the show. People just cannot sit and enjoy life anymore without having it all on video. It really does get disturbing when you're focused on the intricate guitar work that LB provides. His notes were crystal clear, intricate, strong, melodious and nothing but pleasure to absorb. His version of "I"m So Afraid" near the end of the concert was a mind blower, I mean who can do what he can do with a guitar. Christine added a couple of her numbers and I really love the song "I WIsh You Were Here" from Fleetwood Mac's first album with LB and SN. Again her voice was lacking and the sound production was muffled during the song. She also sang "Don't Stop" and again she was better but just not strong enough. Overall, I'd rate the LB/CM show a 9/10 which is more than I could say for the warm up. Jacob Dylan (was it the Wallflowers with him, no one ever said) and his group were muffled, the sound mixing was terrible, it was just a wall of noise, which was really too bad. I was worried that the same level of mixing might affect the LB/CM concert but it didn't. Great night, flew down from Vancouver Canada to see the show and I'd do it again in a heartbeat to see Lindsey. I think that's the 3rd or 4th time I"ve seen him and he just gets better. One last word, Lindsey looks like he's having FUN up there on stage, moreso now that ever before. Well done Lindsey !!

Buckingham McVie concert should not be missed! Their new songs sound great live and they played older Fleetwood Mac hits as well.

    Music Man

Awful sound as usual at this venue, Lindsey was energetic and tight as always but we were really disappointed with Christine's voice (or lack there of) and the role she had in the overall show... it seemed a little Buckingham-centric
