I have been a Lindsey Buckingham fan since Tusk was released. I've seen LB 4 or 5 times now. His playing is beyond reproach, technically brilliant, powerful, playful, rhythmic and passionate. He has created 7 albums of material outside of the Fleetwood Mac domain. He played a few songs from Seeds We Sow and a lot of stuff I"ve heard before. Maybe its time to drop I'm So Afraid and Go Your Own Way from the repetoire and replace them with something else, newer, fresher - although on the other hand, those are the tunes, that I would guess are 'must plays' for his fans. However, they take the place in the set list of what he might play, which would include his more recent work. His acoustic work, and I wanted to hear more of this, I think he did 4 songs at the opening of the show, was just fantastic. All of it clear, crisp, quick although the vocals could have been turned up a notch. I thought he could have done more from Out of the Cradle, one of his more accessible albums. His band was very tight and Lindsey is the creative guy he has always been. Sometime I wonder how he can stand playing within the structure of Fleetwood Mac because his solo work is so different. Regardless, it was an enjoyable evening and I thought his interpretation of "Trouble" and "Tusk" were were delightful. I think the slower, more acoustic version of Trouble, is likely truer to its initial intent than the 'pop' version heard on the original disk. Well done Lindsey, come back again, I'll be there - guaranteed ..........................................and bring your acoustic guitars !!
