Lionel Richie Tickets

Something tells me Lionel Richie knows he doesn't have it anymore, who could blame him. When he started his music career with The Commodores back in the day, he likely, like most musicians/singers couldn't even conceive of performing into his 70s. The politically correct thing to say is his show at Scotiabank Arena was eye catching spectacle with a huge production budget supporting a performer with a proven catalogue of hits. In reality, it seemed Lionel knows his voice isn't the same, his energy is going to be lower (as should be expected) and he has to make up for it somehow. Lionel made up for it by blasting the audience with a backing audio/visual spectacle that provided cover for the reality that Lionel's voice struggles to keep up with his 70s/80s catalogue of hits. It created a distracting concert of over the top spectacle with a game crowd enjoying a performer who hadn't been on the road for five-years. But whether the concert was good is the question and it's a question that if you judged by Lionel's vocal range and ability to keep track of lyrics, you'd have to say no.

I know that both Lionel Ritchie and Earth Wind and Fire are both aged acts. Part of the problem with both acts was that the loudness of the music usurped the singing to a large degree.

It was my high school bestie’s birthday and we decided we needed to be there and wow so happy we did!! We danced so much, laughed and smiled so much, such an amazing time! Our 3rd time seeing EW&F and they always put on a fantastic show! Lionel Richie was the icing on the cupcake, seriously we are still on a high from his fantastic show! Trying to see if the upcoming Vancouver show is possible for us to attend also!!! So thankful we made the Toronto show, thank you EW&F and thank you LIONEL RICHIE for your amazing and entertaining show!!

Lionel Richie was amazing. Played everything you'd want to hear from his catalogue and also including Commodores. Personal highlight was We Are The World which still touches the soul very deeply. Talented performer still at the top of his game. Earth Wind and Fire was also very good. And they were just the opening act.

We had floor seats , everything was organized. I’m spoiled now , floors are the way to go . Up front and personal . We danced and sang the entire night

Had a fabulous time going down memory lane... So enjoyed listening to and watching performers that even after 50 years, still sound and look fabulous! The place was absolutely rocking, from start to finish. Kudos to the musicians too....they were outstanding!

Lionel Richie was the concert of my life! I had tears in my eyes. I was so happy to see him

Lionel is so personable, it almost made it feel like we were in a more intimate setting than the actual 19,000 people that were in the arena with us. He still has his voice and the special effects were effective without being distractive. Tell the merchandisers to start selling earplugs. The woman next to me screamed so loudly at such a high pitch, I think she blew my eardrum out! Lol

Had a blast!! Started listening to Lionel 1983 .. played his cassette in my Walkman so much that I had to keep buying the same cassette! If I would have thought I would get to see him 40 years later I woukd never have believed it!!

Absolutely loved the concert, but thought that at the beginning, the music was disproportionately loud - Lionel was drowned out by the trumpet! It did get better thought. Fantastic concert!

Talk about a trip back to my childhood and young adulthood! Earth Wind and Fire were literally on fire. Lots of energy from the band and everyone was up dancing to the tunes. Lionel had a great mix of those love songs and dancing tunes. Sometimes the instruments over powered Lionel's voice. Overall a fabulous night with music!

Lionel Richie put on a fabulous concert. Great songs, lots of energy and audience contact. The problem with the concert was with Earth Wind &Fire. While they were great, their sound system was subpar at best. Disappointing.

Fantastic nostalgic show by both Lionel Ritchie & Earth, Wind & Fire. Loved the video screens & pyrotechnics. Could sing along with every Lionel Ritchie/Commodore song Unfortunately had a side view & the speakers hanging down were blocking some of the view.

Great music, great friends, great food at St Patties. And I'd do it all again and again.

When we arrived at the venue we found out are seats were being moved due to a Camera. We got worse seats and no apology or explanation. Ruined the evening.
