Mr. Richie is one of those talents I thought I would never get to see live. Even excluding his age, he showed an impressive amount of energy and presence. Cee-Lo Green was also a great performer and will likely achieve that same status down the line.
I heard no words from Celo neither in his singing or when he addressed the audience. He is not an entertainer. Lionel was brilliant, what a voice, all the songs from the Commodore and his own solo career and the memories they brought.. He joked with us, fooled us , asked us to sing with him, told us some stories of how the inspiration for the songs. Despite Celo I enjoyed myself.
His voice and meaningful lyrics conjure up memories that will last a lifetime.
I loved Lionel Richie in concert!! He is a wonderful showman, full of charisma, and energy. The sound was fabulous, and his voice was amazing. The crowd and I went wild. Highly recommend this concert. .
Great performance to kick off his North American tour in Vancouver! Fantastic show!!!!
The total package of singer, entertainer and comedian, Lionel captivated the audience with his memorable and style changing songs. From dance hits, romantic melodies and moving finale of "Heal the World", he wowed the audience and had everyone dancing and singing along. Great for all ages, this true artist still looks amazing, loves his stuff and puts on a fantastic show. Loved the old Commodores numbers too!
I went with a friend and we enjoy the non stopped concert of Lionel Richie. The man can still entertain all ages, a great story teller, singer and entertains the crowd.
All the hits all night long ! He also brought Diana Ross (us) !
First thank you Rogers arena for the upgrade... Totally made our night even better. Lionel Richie was a very fantastic performer. Every song u knew and were on your feet! My moms love for Lionel and his beautiful words made me the romantic I am today! The whole venue spent the night dancing on the ceiling, all night long! Lionel's still got it!
The opening act, Cee Lo Green, was completely under-wheeling. He sang with his mouth so close to the microphone, we couldn't understand a word he said. He'd start off one song (usually a cover of someone else), then switch thirty seconds in; it was confusing and interrupted the flow terribly. His musicians were pretty good, but the whole garter belt costume idea was demeaning to women, especially those as talented as his guitar player an drummer. The one backup singer with the half shaved hair.....well, she was terrible....I wonder how much he pays her to strut around him with his sweat towel and occasionally a lollipop? Ick! Lionel, on the other hand, doesn't need those gimmicks to make himself look good....he just beams his sexy smile and starts singing, and we were all there with him! He squeezed in most of his biggest hits, which of course is the title of this tour, "All the Hits, All Night Long." He was funny, energetic, and did I mention sexy? His black jeans and jacket are understated elegance for a performer, and his stage was simple yet effective. The background lights matched the songs really well. His musicians were amazing ; especially the sax player who also played the harmonica and keyboards. Wow! In short, it was a good concert, and I would recommend it; it would have been amazing had the opening act been better instead of something to endure until the main act!
We partied, sang, danced, cried...Lionel stirred emotions of joy with his performance.
Great show, great set. He is a wonderful showman, the voice is still amazing. This was like a big ole sing along dance party. Took mom and we both loved it. Knew every song and he played everything anybody wants to hear of ours which is nice.
Amazing performer, charismatic and friendly. My wife and I felt we were with a old friend remembering good times.
What a fun night! I would put this concert on my top ten list. Lionel Ritchie got the crowd going from the first song. He is a true entertainer. His voice was perfection and he looks great. He has a great sense of humor. This concert brought back a lot of memories and as Lionel said, that's when you went home and put your Lionel Ritchie record on. Great time.
That's exactly what it was "all night long!!" A great entertainer & brought back memories from the Commodore years too!! It's great to go to a concert where you can sing words to every song he played!!
Cielo Green has to be one of the best opening acts we have seen. When he was finished we said, "It is going to be really hard to top that and take us to the next level. " Lionel Ritchie not only did that but transported us to an amazing state of mind for 1hour and 45 minutes. He is a performer and entertainer second to none. This was the best concert we have seen in 25 years!
Can't wait for him to return,we will definitely see him again
This was his first date of his tour and he blew Vancouver away! Even he was amazed at the fans reaction - I've seen loads of shows but this was outstanding. Not only he's a great singer and musician but he's very amusing when he pulls the sets together - and Cee Lo Green was a revelation as a support act. Thank God Lady Gaga got cancelled for the next night as I don't think I'd have been up to watching her. Go and see Lionel - it'll be the best dollars you spend all year.
We loved the whole show! He just looked so happy to be there. Voice and presence were exceptional. Thanks!
