Little River Band on Tour

"The Best Singing Band in the World" -- as proclaimed by the Eagles' Glenn Frey -- otherwise known as Australian pop-rock group Little River Band, has returned for a 2022 tour celebrating the release of their much-anticipated greatest hits collection, Black Tie. Known for their polished vocals and harmonizing soft-rock hits like 1978's "Reminiscing" and "Lady," Little River Band is a five-piece group that has sold more than 30 million records, and set the record in 1982 for having Top 10 hits in six consecutive years. Fans praise live performances from the Australian group for their vocal and musical energy, great arrangements and timeless classics. Each Little River Band show is sure to create lasting memories. Their new tour has more than 100 scheduled dates from Florida to Minnesota to Arizona and everywhere in between.

Little River Band in Concert

LRB formed in Melbourne in 1975 when lead singer Glenn Shorrock and guitarist Beeb Birtles merged their established success in previous ventures to cement their status in an already vibrant Australian rock scene. Current frontman and longest tenured member Wayne Nelson joined the band five years later as a bassist and vocalist. Nelson has contributed to 23 of Little River Band's studio album releases over 42 years, and many of their major hits, including "Take It Easy on Me," "The Night Owls" and "The Other Guy." Shorrock and Birtles left the group and briefly returned, contributing to a turnstile of rotating members coming and going that would plague the group for years. By 1998, no original members of LRB remained, and Nelson and Stephen Housden would claim legal rights to the band's name. In 2004 the Australian Recording Industry Association Hall of Fame inducted the 1976 lineup of Little River Band -- Graeham Goble, Glenn Shorrock, Beeb Birtles, Derek Pellicci, David Briggs, and George McArdle -- during a ceremony at the 18th Annual ARIA Music Awards. The band's latest release, Black Tie, is a passionate, energetic collection of live performances of the core group with an injection of spirit from the Craig Turley Rock Symphony. Current members of Little River Band include: Wayne Nelson, Chris Marion (keys), Bruce Wallace (guitar), Ryan Ricks (drums/percussion), and Colin Whinnery (guitar).

    Wonderful!

by Penelope51 on 2018-08-24Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

Despite the current lineup of the band having none of the original members, these guys did LRB proud! Fab guitar work as well. Loved every minute of it. And they stick around for autographs after the show!

Excellent show. CEO of the Resort gave us VP photo op with Little River Band. Crowd had great energy till the end but not good enough for an encore.

    Love Little River Band

by Tiredofpickinganame on 2018-08-20River Cree Resort & Casino - Enoch

This concert was amazing. The only thing I didn't like was when the band started calling everyone to the front. Security was trying to keep everyone seated and in some kind of order. Otherwise they played awesome and sounded great.

    LRB Reminiscing was short evening

by StAlbertSteve on 2018-08-19River Cree Resort & Casino - Enoch

The show was great, the acoustics was pretty good for the venue, huge improvement with the new building. Our seats on the patio were incredible. LBR did do a good show but it was a little short, they did the fake ending so they could come out for an encore... tricked a lot of people who actually got up and left. Did it a second time and more left. That meant the 90-minute show was really 75-minute. I wish they would have just played longer. That walk down memory lane wasn't as long as I would have hoped for.

    Reminiscing with LIttle River Band

by 5forBernie on 2018-08-17Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

Loved hearing the songs and harmonies which they are well known for! Loved the crowd participation times. I was channeling my inner light rock fantasy. “Wouldn’t it be great to be up there” despite the fact I can’t sing those high notes!

I was REMINISCING all night long!

by YazMan on 2018-08-17Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

Awesome to hear those oldies once again and first time live in Winnipeg in over 30 years. Lead singer/bass player Wayne Nelson still has got the LRB vibe they originally had with the founding members. He joined the band in 1980 I do believe (8 years into their existence?) and has taken this band under his wing beautifully. Their singing and harmonies were incredible….studio quality stuff. Sound was fantastic at the Burt.

by Spritzerd on 2018-08-17Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

Great to rock to the old tunes again. Guys were awesome. Lead singer/bass player and lead guitarist were great. Haven't missed a beat. Great solos and harmonies. Tight as a band.

LRB is almost as good as the original band

by notporky on 2018-08-17Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

The band is very tight and professional, and they are all very good musicians. They occasionally captured the essence of the original band, especially the dual guitar solos. The harmonies were very good, but unfortunately not 1970s LRB good (to be fair how could they be as good as the worlds best vocal harmony group?). I missed the original voices, but again kudos to these musicians for putting on a great and memorable show.

    Little River band was terrific!

by Beejboo on 2014-11-16Hard Rock Casino Vancouver - Coquitlam

I have been listening to Little River Band for a long time and I was thrilled to have the opportunity to see them live but was concerned that they may have lost their sound. Turns out, they still sound amazing. The harmonies were fabulous! They even came out after the show to sign autographs. What a class act. Thanks guys!
