Little River Band on Tour

"The Best Singing Band in the World" -- as proclaimed by the Eagles' Glenn Frey -- otherwise known as Australian pop-rock group Little River Band, has returned for a 2022 tour celebrating the release of their much-anticipated greatest hits collection, Black Tie. Known for their polished vocals and harmonizing soft-rock hits like 1978's "Reminiscing" and "Lady," Little River Band is a five-piece group that has sold more than 30 million records, and set the record in 1982 for having Top 10 hits in six consecutive years. Fans praise live performances from the Australian group for their vocal and musical energy, great arrangements and timeless classics. Each Little River Band show is sure to create lasting memories. Their new tour has more than 100 scheduled dates from Florida to Minnesota to Arizona and everywhere in between.

Little River Band in Concert

LRB formed in Melbourne in 1975 when lead singer Glenn Shorrock and guitarist Beeb Birtles merged their established success in previous ventures to cement their status in an already vibrant Australian rock scene. Current frontman and longest tenured member Wayne Nelson joined the band five years later as a bassist and vocalist. Nelson has contributed to 23 of Little River Band's studio album releases over 42 years, and many of their major hits, including "Take It Easy on Me," "The Night Owls" and "The Other Guy." Shorrock and Birtles left the group and briefly returned, contributing to a turnstile of rotating members coming and going that would plague the group for years. By 1998, no original members of LRB remained, and Nelson and Stephen Housden would claim legal rights to the band's name. In 2004 the Australian Recording Industry Association Hall of Fame inducted the 1976 lineup of Little River Band -- Graeham Goble, Glenn Shorrock, Beeb Birtles, Derek Pellicci, David Briggs, and George McArdle -- during a ceremony at the 18th Annual ARIA Music Awards. The band's latest release, Black Tie, is a passionate, energetic collection of live performances of the core group with an injection of spirit from the Craig Turley Rock Symphony. Current members of Little River Band include: Wayne Nelson, Chris Marion (keys), Bruce Wallace (guitar), Ryan Ricks (drums/percussion), and Colin Whinnery (guitar).

  • A talented group of leads

by Pontiki on 2024-12-10Casino Rama Resort - RamaRating: 5 out of 5

Little River Band have been around for almost 50 years, and they still sound amazing. They all sang at one point or another, and sometimes all within the same song. I loved “Night Owls” and the audience got in on Take It Easy On Me”. I was near Colin’s side of the stage, and he interacted well with all the fans nearby. After the show the guys stayed and shook hands and were friendly, not in a hurry to leave. A great night, worth the trip on a snowy day.

The Little River Band delivered an incredible performance that truly captivated the audience. From start to finish, their energy was infectious, and it was clear they genuinely loved connecting with the crowd. The band encouraged everyone to stand, dance, and sing along, making the night feel more like a celebration than just a concert. Their timeless hits resonated beautifully, creating a sense of nostalgia and joy for fans of all ages. The combination of their flawless musicianship and enthusiasm made the entire experience unforgettable. If you ever get the chance to see the Little River Band live, don’t miss it—they put on a show that’s as fun as it is heartfelt! Does this capture the vibe you want, or would you like me to adjust anything?

  • Two boomers enjoying bands from the past.

by Two boomers on 2024-12-09Casino Rama Resort - RamaRating: 4 out of 5

Always a great venue for concerts. One can tell which group is still current and have released a new CD. The LRB is a tight and very skilled band, reproducing their popular songs with updated technology plus their new music seems good. Less excited about FMEB.

  • Good

by Joy on 2024-12-09Casino Rama Resort - RamaRating: 3 out of 5

The venue, casino Rama, has very uncomfortable seats. Little river band was good but not sure about the lead singer. Their new songs were good. Five man electrical band were good.

These guys may not be the originals, but put on a great show . . . all of the old hits, along with some new music. Excellent event!!

  • Disappointing!!!

by Queenie on 2020-02-19Grey Eagle Event Centre - CalgaryRating: 1 out of 5

It was a very short concert and they started 20 minutes late! There isn’t one original member and Wayne Nelson is the closest to original (1980) but his voice isn’t great anymore! This band should be called a Tribute band not Little River Band! Disappointing!!

  • Little River Band concert.

by Greenbastard on 2020-02-19Grey Eagle Event Centre - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5

I thought they sounded excellent. Sadly, no original members left. The main singer has been with them since the 80's, but they still played very well. Great experience that brought back memories. Very reasonable ticket prices too.

  • Band was good venue wasn't

by Glenn on 2020-02-18Grey Eagle Event Centre - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5

The band played and sounded great. The place not so good. In the restaurant the steak was tough, the waiter angry, and they overcharged for drinks in the venue. Quite a lot more than the prices printed on the signs. 36.00 for 2 double hi balls. Rip off. They said spiced rum cost more. Right. Never going back there.

  • too short

by Zeck on 2020-02-18Grey Eagle Event Centre - CalgaryRating: 2 out of 5

Sorry but disappointed for the price of the tickets and how short the concert was, plus no merchandise for sale!

  • Little River Band at Grey Eagle Casino, Calgary

by hildavid on 2020-02-18Grey Eagle Event Centre - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5

One of the best venues in Calgary for smaller, intimate concerts like the Little River Band. We saw them on Saturday, February 15 2020 and enjoyed them very much. All their hits from the 70's to the later stuff of the 80's. Even thought the closest to an original member was bassist Wayne Nelson who joined them in 1980, the songs were performed like the originals. Their interaction with the audience was very good and we felt they appreciated us being their for them. I would see them again, and of course, will be attending many more concerts at the Grey Eagle in the future.

  • Little River Band

  • Reminiscing

by Ronnie on 2020-02-18Grey Eagle Event Centre - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

It was great to hear all the old songs and a couple of new ones. 45 years of outstanding music I grew up with all the back to high school when they started, 1975! They kept all us entertained and I will see them when they come back. The venue was good with both the size and sound. Now I know it's not the Jubilee but still sounded good. I love seeing the old bands that come through as it brings back great memories from the past. Thanks for the Entertainment. Cheers!!

  • TLR did a great job - well worth the ticket price
