Lunay on Tour
Puerto Rican musician Lunay is a rising star on the Latin trap and reggaeton scenes. At just 15, Lunay rose to fame by uploading his freestyle raps on SoundCloud and Facebook. In 2017, he released the viral single "Aparentas." The song caught the attention of two of Puerto Rico's top producers, Chris Jedi and Gaby Music, who quickly signed Lunay to their label La Familia. Lunay's smooth and melodic R&B-influenced reggaeton has garnered comparisons to Daddy Yankee.
After signing with La Familia, in 2018 Lunay released the singles "Si Te Vas Conmigo" and "Déjame Saber." That same year he released "Luz Apaga" -- a collaboration with Ozuna, Lyanno and Rauw Alejandro that's garnered 150 million views on YouTube to date.
In 2019, Lunay released his debut album Épico, which reached No. 2 on Billboard's Top Latin Albums chart. The album includes a remix of the track "Soltera" featuring Bad Bunny and Daddy Yankee. In July 2020, Lunay's hit single "Relaciones" became a Rolling Stone Latin music pick of the week.
Lunay Live in Concert
Born Jefnier Osorio Moreno in Corozal, Puerto Rico, Lunay got his start in music by following in his parents' footsteps and singing in the church choir. His father and brother are drummers, so rhytm and beat came naturally to him.
When he was in the 10th grade, Lunay entered a freestyle contest judged by Daddy Yankee and won. The prize package included a meeting with the reggaeton icon. When he met Daddy Yankee, Lunay told him that he wouldn't quit until he worked with him one day. Just five years later, Daddy Yankee was featured on the remix of Lunay's track "Soltera."
In a 2021 interview with W Magazine, Lunay credited Daddy Yankee, Bad Bunny, Anuel AA, and Ozuna as inspirations.
Lunay said of Daddy Yankee: "Thanks to him, I discovered what the world of reggaeton was, what the world of urbano was, and from there I started listening to other artists."
