About

MAD CADDIES IN CONCERT:

California ska punk band Mad Caddies came of age during the mid-'90s ska revival precipitated by bands like The Mighty Mighty Bosstones and Rancid. Blending the jaunty, upbeat-heavy rhythms of ska and the oi! sensibility of punk, the Caddies live shows are a frenetic affair characterized by mosh pits and plenty of skanking. With a new album in the works for 2014, the Caddies are once again on the road, treating rude boys and rude girls around the country to adrenalin-filled sets of old and new material.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Formed in Solvang, California, in the mid-'90s, the members of the Mad Caddies performed at their high school and at regional venues throughout Southern California before signing to Honest Don's Records for 1997 debut full-length Quality Soft Core. The band's tight playing on the album and catchy songs like "Distress" attracted the attention of NOFX's Fat Mike, who signed the Caddies to his Fat Wreck Chords imprint for their 1998 sophomore album Duck and Cover. Over the course of five studio albums and several international tours, the band has amassed a loyal fanbase that will be out in full force at their 2014 tour dates.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Such a great show! ...it was a non-stop ska fest!"

"When the Mad Caddies went on the crowd was at a fever pitch. They played a good mix of old and new and rocked the house for a good hour and a half. LONG LIVE THE MAD CADDIES!"

    2 out of 3 ain't bad

by CoffeeKris on 2009-11-13THE CAPITAL MUSIC HALL - Ottawa

The show last night consisted of three ska bands: The Dirty 30's, The Johnstones and (of course) The Mad Caddies. While the Dirty 30's played their instruments well, they paled in comparison to the other bands of the night. The Johnstones were amazing. They obviously love what they do and are ridiculously talented to add to it. Each of the band members has a childish enthusiasm that mixes with their supreme musical talent to creat a fabulous show. After seeing them live, I'm now officially a fan. Last, but certainly not least, The Mad Caddies were wonderful. They delivered on the level of excellence that I've come to expect from them since becoming a fan a couple years ago. These guys clearly enjoy being on stage with one another and that shows through their music. Good news to any fans reading this, they're working on a new album! Keep an eye out for it!

    Madcaddies amazing! Starlite Room=terrible venue!

by crup on 2009-11-11The Starlite Room - Edmonton

I would recommend to see the Mad Caddies any day to a friend-they are amazing live and just a great show and vibe. The Starlite room, on the other hand, is an abolutely terrible venue. This is the second event I saw there (thought I would give it a second chance) and I will never go back there for any band again. It is dirty, gross and overall bad set up.

the opening band was so bad and almost ruined the whole night, but the johnstones and mad caddies for sure made up for it. both were beyond excellent and i would love to see them again.

    mad caddies are always awesome!

I don't think anyone is EVER disappointed going to a Caddies' show! The first opening band, Class Act was it? Kudos to them for sticking to the ska theme. They show promise. Nice Reel Big Fish cover, guys! I personally didn't care so much for the angry white guy, and the Johnstones? No offense guys, but not every second word of a second needs to be the F-word. Seriously. I know we're all trying to be 'bad-ass' and everything, but it is quite a turn-off when you can have some good tunes otherwise. Get someone to write lyrics for you if you have to. As for the Mad Caddies, except for starting at 11:20pm(not their fault, I'm just getting too old at 29 years old), rattling off a great set, I just missed hearing Gentleman live again, but that's what you buy their great live record for. Played some new stuff, too. Otherwise always entertaining and a goooood time!! Mad Caddies rule!!

Distillarry & UnionEvents run a tight show!

by Anonymous on 2009-11-07Miscellaneous Venues Calgary - Calgary

Excellent show ... impressed by both the fun rocking out atmosphere .. but also by the level of professionalism shown by the venue and staff. Doors opened punctually when they said them would .. First band even took the stage ahead of schedule .. and things rocked from then on. Quick set changes, great sound mixing.. drink service fast without hassles or major lineups. All in all .. perfectly run ... keeping the night all about the music and the fun, not waiting bored between sets.
