One of the best live shows I've ever seen

by ReenaK on 2009-09-23Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

With a 21- song setlist spanning the band's 20+ year career, it was nothing short of a triumphant return after a 10 year absence. We can only hope it doesn't take them another 10 years to come back. Just incredible. High energy, solid performance. Also, if I do say so myself, the crowd was pretty awesome, too.

    Manics Pure NRG!

by WelshBoyVancouver on 2009-09-23Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

I have seen the Manics in the UK back on the Millennium NYE party in Cardiff. I have been to gigs in large stadiums and medium clubs. The Manics were just outstanding. The buzz around the Commodore was of a band who knows how to woo the audience and they certainly did that. I was the lad with the massive Welsh Flag and when James Dean Bradfield saw the flag he gave me that nod and wink of recognition. During "A Design for Life" he moved his mic stand right in front of me, much to the delight of my friends and people around me. Whatta Blast! This band have not changed in 10 years. They have not aged and seem timeless. All the classics were played and to end on "A Design for Life" meant that the gig finished on a massive high. No encure required!
