Great performance! Just wish people would not kick the back of my seat
My daughters took me out to Mary Poppins as a combined Mothers Day/Birthday gift from May this year. They remembered I had done some Festival work with some of the songs in my younger years, and I now also teach Musical Theatre in my studio. So I came expecting one thing, but was delighted and surprised at the amazing DANCING, sets and lights. It took the story to a whole higher level! I was happy with the singing and acting as well - but I expected to be, as I have attended "Broadway Across Canada" in the past. So: well done again and SUPER BIG APPLAUSE for the dancing numbers.
We took our granddaughters to their first event at the Jubilee and they were delighted with the sets, music and performance. The set changing was entertaining in itself and went off without a hitch. There were occasions when the lines were spoken quickly and with exaggerated accents that made it difficult to understand what was being said. A very pleasant evening.
took my niece to the show and we both loved it,,,,the scenery was awesome, the cast was great and the music was wonderful...the only drawback was sometimes we couldn't make out what the actor was saying because of the background noise, but this won't stop us from going again,,,,loved it
It was amazing!!!! Practically magic!!!!! And definitely the Supercalifragulisticexpialudosious song!!!!!
The show was fun from beginning to end! I wish the seats were a bit better!
Special effects were great. Hard to hear at times because the music was to loud.
Mary Poppins was "Practically Perfect in every way! We loved it!!!
This production was a delight! My 8-year old granddaughter was entranced as were the three adults with her. The colorful costumes, sets, and great music all made this a very special production.
Took my two young daughters (9 & 7) to this and we all loved it. It was 3 hours of childhood memory invoking music, and plenty of comic relief. Jane and Michael were very well played - amazing children!
This was a last minute show we decided to see and we are so glad we did. It was usual disney magic . We were thrilled to see it and would reccomend it to anyone .
Great production-great stage setting-the two leads have wonderful voices and choreography was excellent..
I grudgingly purchased tickets at the urging of my daughter, fully expecting this performance to be a rehashing of the saccharine movie that we have all seen ad nauseum. I was pleasantly surprised. There were several new songs and scenes and several creatively reworked. The use of sets, lighting, and staging was creative, fully utilizing the stage (both horizontally and vertically). The costumes fully enhanced the story and performance. The calibre of the voices was generally much better than I have experienced in other touring productions, with one more minor character showing exceptional range! Were it not for the to-be-expected sweeter than necessary ending I may have rated this show even higher. Well worth the trip and highly recommended.
I have been attending Broadway and West End musicals for over 5 decades. This, in Toronto, London, NYC, San Francisco, Vancouver, and, now in Calgary. This production was as good as any as I have seen , anywhere. The Jubilee theater in Calgary is also, as good as any.
Mary Poppins was an amazing singer. Burt was full of humor. The kids were amazing actors. And they kept up with the dancing of the adults. I would love to know how Mary actually pulled all the stuff from her carpet bag.
Incredibly fantastic!!!!!! very well done and the show was uplifting. See it, if you get a chance.
It was an awesome spectacle!! I was there with a friend, and we had a really great night! :) To all the actresses and actors on stage, the orchester and everyone else (light, sound, etc.): You're doing an amazing job!!! Thank you, for giving us a wonderful evening :)
I thought the sound quality was not that great. I couldn't understand the words being spoke or being sung at times and really had to strain to figure them out. The rest of my group felt the same way.
Very good, I strongly recommend to everyone, is unique.
