Amazing show! Perfect setlist and amazing performances! Wow.... Best show I've seen in a long time to be honest.... And the light show was badass...

    Great sound, amazing light show

by temporubato on 2010-05-31Malkin Bowl - Vancouver

This show was my introduction to Massive Attack live and it was unforgettable. The lights were amazing, never a dull moment, great show guys. They played a lot of their biggest hits - songs I grew up on . . . to hear them live was, I'll say again, unforgettable.

    Overwhelming

by Pbuchana on 2010-05-31Malkin Bowl - Vancouver

Just a completely stunning concert! I have been very lucky lately - saw Muse in March in Vancouver and now Massive Attack....both bands oozed brilliance in very different ways. The Attack hit the stage rocking and even though Vancouver delivered the usual liquid sunshine the band just knocked it out of the park. Note perfect everything - the lead guitarist was phenomenal! 6 of us could not believe the sound!

    Massive Attack was UNREAL!!!!

by CanadaBee on 2010-05-31Malkin Bowl - Vancouver

I have loved Massive Attack for about 20 years & finally got to see them live! AMAZING is the only word to discribe their set!! Martina Topley Bird who opened & also performs with them was beautiful to listen to as well! If you get the chance, GO see Massive Attack Live! They will blow your mind!! My only complaint was that the venue has a curfew, so I know they would have played longer if they weren't at Malkin Bowl. Having said that though, watching them in the trees in the mist was pretty awesome so it might be worth the curfew.

    Attacked in the rain!

    by lordrock00 on 2010-05-31Malkin Bowl - Vancouver

Stellar preformance. A bit too short, and the sound was a little tin-y, but definitly worth the rain.

    Cheering for world poverty!

    by m1mde on 2010-05-30Malkin Bowl - Vancouver

Truly a wicked show, not long enough, of course, and it sucks standing on an inclined surface. The music will definitely make you rock out, and the light/image show - just inspiring! Highly recommend this one!

    Massive Attack Malking Bowl

    by Boots777 on 2010-05-30Malkin Bowl - Vancouver

Light rain @ Malkin Bowl plus amazing Bristol boys equals unforgettable concert. First time to Malking Bowl and I thought the rain would ruin the event. But it just heightened the experience 10-fold. Tracks from Mezzanine to Protection to Heligoland flowed seamlessly. Great show from start to finish and would not miss a chance to see them again live. Wow.

Massive Attack - good. Venue - bad.

by Anonymous on 2010-05-30Malkin Bowl - Vancouver

It wasn't the right venue for the band. They're not a group you see outside in the daylight hours (let alone in the rain). They should've been booked into a club and started their set closer to 11 -- and the band pretty much said the same thing themselves.

in spite of malkin bowl, massive attack rocked it!

by jimiC on 2010-05-30Malkin Bowl - Vancouver

Massive attack was unbelievable- probably the most important show I have been to this year. Music was spot on, a spiritual experience, and their light show proclaimed important messages about overconsumption, wealth (gap between haves an have nots), and the importance of human rights. Unfortunalty the folks at Malkin bowl failed. They were unprepaired for the rain, made the show stop as soon as it got dark, had no ushers or lights to assist those exiting the venue, and (worst of all IMHO) no beer garden. It is a shame that such a beautiful venue turned out to be such a dissapointment! Many thanks to Massive Attack for putting on a stellar show in the face of (venue) adversity!! I will never forget it!

    Amazing concert

by SinR on 2010-05-30Malkin Bowl - Vancouver

Well the concert was really good, except for the rain :). Vancouver city officials placed a daytime curfew, but Massive Attack still pulled it off. They were projecting a lot of political messages on the screen in the back of the stage, which I get, but I don't think that it is appropriate for anyone to push anything on their fans. If you do it in your songs and you succeed to evoke the kind of emotions that you had in mind than that is a different story. Overall it was a wonderful concert, and it was better than I expected.

one of the best performances Ive ever seen in my entire life. i wasnt expecting such things from a trip hop band... although they kept us waiting for a long time and the band didn't play that long, i would say everyone should experience how massive is massive attack!!

Massive Attack stormed in the Park!

by Krismatica on 2010-05-30Malkin Bowl - Vancouver

Massive Attack stormed in Stanley Park last night, literally. This show was not for the rain weary but the boys from Bristol felt right at home in the chronic (&) drizzle. Martina Topley Bird wowed us with her fabulous vocals etc and brought the crowd right into her mixes. The potent light display introduced us to a whole new level of info-tainment (ranging from depressing population stats of our Native Americans 1497-present, how many litres of oil are spilling by the day & the European debts to the latest frivolous banter about Lost and silly Hollyweird antics). Standing in the midst of a rainforest while being bombarded by the most diverse sounds and messages this side of the Atlantic humbled the urgency of the "call to action". But despite the chaos there is such beauty in the standout classic and timeless tunes like Blue Lines, Daydreaming, Inertia and Psyche...and the One Love Irie feeling resonated deep with the soaking wet Canadians in the woods last night. Now if we can just embrace their final message to go "Beyond Petroleum" we might just get somewhere folks.
