MATCHBOX TWENTY IN CONCERT:

After a several-year hiatus from the stage, beloved alt-rockers Matchbox Twenty emerged stronger than ever in 2012 with their fourth studio album North, landing at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and embarking on The North Tour 2013 to the delight of fans around the world. The bands 2013 dates with the Goo Goo Dolls treated audiences to old favorites and newer hits like 2012 single "She's So Mean," cementing their status as a must-see band in 2014.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

“It was one of the best, if not the best, concert I have ever been to. I appreciate the fact that the whole band, especially Rob Thomas, gives it everything they have on stage. You really get your money's worth.”

“Rob Thomas came across as so casual and down to earth and friendly that you connected with him instantly.”

“Such a great show. I've been a fan since 1995! I've seen them three times over the years and they were as good as when I saw them in the '90s. They played a great mix of old and new!”

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Matchbox Twenty rose to international fame during the ‘90s with classic alt-rock gems like “Push,” “3am,” and “Real World." Their 1996 debut album Yourself or Someone Like You was certified platinum in Canada, New Zealand and Australia and their 2000 follow-up Mad Season was certified 4x platinum in the United States. During a band hiatus in the 2000s, frontman Rob Thomas focused on his solo career, resulting in the phenomenally successful single "Smooth," a collaboration with Latin guitar legend Santana. Fans rejoiced when the band returned to the studio in 2010 to record what would ultimately become 2012’s North, their first album to land at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

First time seeing Matchbox in concert!!

by Tinnia on 2023-12-29Budweiser Stage - Toronto

I went for the songs, but loved the entire experience. I had soooo much fun at this concert. It was actually my favorite for the year. I also have wanted to see Matchbox since high school and finally had the chance and it was better than I expected. Love this band 💜 Rob Thomas is amazing and his opening act was great as well. I went alone and found a friend to jam with during the concert. But even without a friend I was in Matchbox land and loving it. It was so so good. Definitely not one to miss. đŸ„°đŸ„°đŸ„°đŸ„°

    Phenominal Show!

    by Joiner on 2023-08-11

This was my first-time seeing Matchbox 20 in concert although I've been a fan of their music for 25+ years. I bought the tickets in early 2020 before the pandemic and the 3 1/2 year wait was worth it. They put on a phenomenal show and sound better in concert (didn't think that was possible). It was very evident that Rob Thomas gives everything he has in his voice to ensure that his fans have a memorable experience. The entire band didn't hold back! Can't wait to see them again!

    Matchbox Twenty-Toronto 2023

    by C. K. on 2023-08-10

The show was the first MATCHBOX concert I had ever attended and it was fantastic. I had a seat in the 2nd row and even though it was loud and everyone was singing as well as standing up. I would travel across the country to see them again at the BUDWEISER STAGE. I would attend another show at the venue again because the venue had a great setup and the acoustics were mind blowing. I had waited since they started in 1996. MATCHBOX TWENTY was definitely worth waiting for. The mix of favourite older songs and new ones made for a great show.

    They did not disappoint!

    by Michelle on 2023-08-08

MatchBox 20 and their opening band Matt Nathanson were terrific! We've seen Rob Thomas on his own before and he was always awesome. So happy they played all of our favourites! At one point I turned around and literally got goosebumps watching and listening to the audience sing their hearts out along with him! Loved the outdoor venue, despite the heat. Thankfully the rain held off as we weren't under the canopy! The only thing that really disappointed (and hence the 4-star) is that we had a HUGE man sitting directly in front of us, so when we were sitting, you couldn't see the stage, and when he stood up (95% of the concert we stood because everyone in front of us was standing!), we could see nothing, no stage, no screen. (The other screen was blocked by the big pillar.) Would go see them again in a heartbeat! And now we'll be watching for Matt Nathanson concerts!

Been going to see this band since the 90s and they have yet to disappoint. You always get 110% from these guys... great music and entertainment, always well presented.

These group of guys get better with age , I will always buy a ticket when they are in town! The seats were much too close together , only complaint is the seating at the venue.
