Matt Dusk is always a great performer! His new album is fantastic and his shows are always fun. I have been to at least 4 or 5 of his performances and he never disappoints.
If Matt Dusk wants to go anywhere he is going to need to perform longer than 1 hour. Shortest concert I have ever been too. Okay performer but can't say we got our moneys worth.
Great show overall but I thought it was a little short. The band especially the drummer were great .
New CD sounds even better live and in person. What an entertainer, signed authgraphs and took photos after the show. The CD would make a great Holiday Gift for anyone. I look forward to seeing him again in the New Year. Thanks Matt!
This was the second time that I have seen Matt live and he was wonderful. I could have listened for two more hours. He has an amazing voice and stage presence. He was fully engaged with the audience during the entire performance. He is a showman comparible to Frank Sinatra. His new album is lots of fun and very entertaining. I can't wait to see him again.
Intimate setting, with a great singer. For the first time in a long time I've gone to a concert where the singer was singing to the crowd and not at the crowd.
Do you hear a 'but' coming? I actually attended the show just for the opening performer, Theo Tams. Theo was very, very good and his set was too, too short. I would have been happy to hear just Theo singing for the whole show, he is that good.
He did an excellent job. We were hoping he would do a few of the older songs in the old way but it was still a good show. Nice interaction with the audience. Would probably go again if I thought show would be different.
A wonderful show from start to finish. Amazing Show
As always, Matt put on a fabulous show. He's quite the entertainer, showman and performer. He sincerely appreciates the crowd and always lets them know it. And as always, he takes the time to meet the crowd afterwards. He performed his classics and some new tunes from Good News. I'd recommend a Matt Dusk show to anyone who loves to watch a performer that genuinely looks like they're having a great time doing what they're doing and loving it. Theo Tams was the supporting act. That kid has a great voice and put on a performance that left me impressed.
Matt was as usual very entertaining and enjoyable. We have seen him in a smaller setting and prefer it to a large auditorium. We enjoyed Theo Tams but were disappointed to have a 20 min intermission so early and have to wait to hear Matt.
Matt Dusk was a wonderful entertainer. His jazz or croner style songs were mesmorizing. Matt has an easy style and drifted across the stage numberous times to sing and chat with the audience that seemed to LOVE HIM. He sang a song written by Paul Anka for his encore and it was an easy comparison to see this entertainer is headed to being another great Canadian entertainer. He has a wonderful talent for both song writing and singing. The Casino was a great venue as he seemed very personal with the audience and engaging as he danced, chatted, sang and totally entertained the audience.
good show ...ending song terrific... MY WAY..... 4 stars out of 5 mike
It amazes me that with the talent that this small man exudes he still plays small venues. There is no better show for this price! Matt puts on a fabulous intimate performance! We will see him everytime he comes to Winnipeg! The man is humble and sweet! He makes me proud to be Canadian!
Another great concert brought to us by Matt Dusk! Dusk always appears to genuinely care about giving his fans a good show. He played a lot of music from his latest album, "Good News", but still made sure to include his fan's favourites from previous albums. The show was high-energy and the band seemed as enthusiastic about giving a stellar performance as Dusk. The set-list was solid and comprehensive, covering everything from slow crooning to up-beat music that made you want to dance. Dusk pulls out all of the stops when it comes to fan interaction- pausing to make eye contact with individual members of the audience, giving a CD to an audience member with crutches he had heard about via Facebook, and staying late after the show to meet-and-greet every single member of the audience who was interested in meeting him. This has become a signature of Dusk's performances and the fans love it. From putting on a beautiful, intimate concert to making sure he's had a chance to shake hands with every single member of his audience- no one could ever accuse Matt Dusk of being detached. In summary: excellent performance, great song list, and a wonderful experience.
My husband and I went to see Matt last evening. It was our second time together to see him, my third time to see him as last time I saw him he played downtown at the Burton Cummings Theatre. I must say that we really enjoyed the concert. My husband commented that he felt Matt had improved since the last time we saw him which was there a few years back. He felt this time that he participated more with the audience and actually looked a lot more like Michael Buble. I know that he was promoting his new cd but I actually think I like his older stuff best. However he certainly seemed to please the crowd that were there.
Great Music, Great show, and singing "My Way" was a great way to end the show. Also it was nice meeting him after the show.
From the very first note out of the speakers, the sound of this performance was absolutely dismal! Did not enjoy even one number. It was like a high school band (and not a good one) with everyone playing as loud as they could, with an extremely bad sound system. Matt was energetic on stage, but his voice was not at its best and eroded further by the bad sound system and buzzing from the mike. Was so glad when it was over, I could finally applaud.
Matt Dusk was unbelievable!!!! He has such a wonderful and soothing voice. I love his music but it seems that he sounds even better live then on his cd and his band was amazing as well. All of the band members had a chance to shine through within the program and they did an amazing job. On top of Matt Dusk being great, he had Theo Tams open up for him and he was also a treat to watch. Overall I'd say you need to see this show, you won't be disappointed.
