I found there was not action to keep the children entertain and I found the costumes looked very tired and old.........not the best performances

It was great! I just wished that the doors to the auditorium opened a little bit earlier so we could have sat in our seats sooner. Other than that, I would definitely recommend it!

Very easy to follow max and ruby version of the nutcracker. Super cute. Kids loved it. My three yr old boy followed along easily. We had a great day with the kids.

Show was great - VIP package needs work

by MandMandE on 2012-12-17Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

We thoroughly enjoyed the show itself - great family fun! The VIP pre-event was disappointing, especially the food offering. Also the amount of activities were very limited and whoever inflated the balloons should learn how to do it, as they kept popping and scaring kids and parents alike.

great christmas show for the kids - well timed!

by princemax on 2012-12-17Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

We were pleasantly surprised by the level of professionalism and timing to the show. Our kids were engaged throughout the entire show and when attention spans waned, there was a break or music changed! The snack bar and refreshments were very poorly managed and the wait staff was terribly unstaffed and managed.

Max and Ruby Vip Meet and Greet......

by Anonymous on 2012-12-17Hamilton Place Theatre - Hamilton

I was very dissapointed with the VIP Meet and Greet...... What a watse of money and SOOOOO misleading!!!! We were to give our cameras to an employee to take pictures of the children, which was fine. I explained how to use the camera (which is not difficult). My child is up there standing with Max and Ruby and the employee is holding the camera up! To my surprise when my childs turn was done, the employee pass me my camera and states I wasn't able to get any pictures for you! Instead of taking pictures, she pressed video camera and record and the only shot I have is of Max and Ruby's feet. You would think since she was unable to take any pictures, she would have allowed my child to go back up so I could take them myself......BUT, NO, they only allowed each child to go up one time. Perhaps they should get competent staff, that know how to take pictures and follow instructions on how to take a picture. I was not the only one dissapointed with the incompitent staff member who didn't know how to use a camera. Why did we have to pass our Cameras to her is she doesn't know how to use any of them?? Now, my child has no pictures to look at of her and Max and Ruby. Try explaining that to a 3 year old!! The show itself was fine. but the dissapointment encountered from the meet and greet, made it difficult to enjoy the show!!!!!!

Sorry, this play was done poorly. It was not the magical event I thought it was going to be.

My son enjoyed it a lot.. I'm glad there was a break in the middle of the show.. Really helped. The snacks and drinks were a little expensive. $3 for a water is kind of crazy. But the show was cute and worth it :)

Great intoduction to the big world of ballet!

by Ramina77 on 2012-12-17Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

It was a real pleasure to watch the show with my girls. My younger one, who is just 3,5 enjoyed it very much. The only disadvantage was that they did not pronounce the whole name of the composer (just Peter!).

What a cute show. Our 3.5 year old loved singing along with the Christmas carols that the cast sang. The show was great, the dancing was beautifully done and it was very vivid and bright. Totally recommend this to the Max and Ruby fan in your house!

    Max & Ruby's Nutcracker

by ILOVEBOCELLI on 2012-12-17Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

I thought the play was very sweet.....the kids were very much entertained however the intermission tended to lose a bit of their patience.....I noticed that most kids didn't sit so well after that. overall the performance was great I also was apart of the VIP party.....although very cute that the kids got to meet Max and Ruby, I felt like it wasn't organized all that well. The craft table was very small and some kids stayed there for quite awhile making it harder for other kids to participate.

    Max and Ruby...was a hit

by NyNy on 2012-12-17Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

This play was a great choice for my almost 4 year old. He had no idea who the Nutcracker was but with Max, Ruby and Grandma he started to understand it. The costumes were amazing, the songs were joyful and the adaptation was one that any child of any age would enjoy.
