Concert was ok, VIP event was very poor

by Torontofamily on 2012-12-17Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

VIP portion was very poorly organized and totally not worth it. Snacks comprised of pretzels and raisons, which is laughable. Balloons kept popping because they were overfilled - complete amateur move. But the worst was the lady on the microphone organizing the pictures - she was rude and completely harsh the entire time. Perhaps you should hire someone who knows something about, and actually likes kids for the joband keep that one in the back away from other humans. Will absolutely not be recommending.

Great costumes and sets, very cute

by Hammer1watcher on 2012-12-16Hamilton Place Theatre - Hamilton

My kids loved the costumes and sets and music and dancing if the show. The wands you buy before the show were helpful. The intermission was very long for small children though.

    Max & Ruby

by lawfield on 2012-12-15Hamilton Place Theatre - Hamilton

Really good production for 3-5 year olds,. However, some of the ballets were a little too long to keep the children's interest, The performance was longer than I expected for little ones. Lovely dancing!

    Max and Ruby Rocked!

by Felvus on 2012-12-15Hamilton Place Theatre - Hamilton

An amazing show that was great for young kids and adults alike. The show was great for toddlers. My twins are almost three and I was nervous about bringing them on my own, however the show took care of everything. Hamilton Place level parking had a broken elevator, so that was a horrible experience. Also, they appeared very unprepared for all the cars. Only one lane was open to get into the parking at Convention Centre.

    Max and Ruby - Nutcraker

by Anonymous on 2012-12-15Hamilton Place Theatre - Hamilton

The show was ok, but there wasn't a lot of Max and Ruby. It was a lot of different dancing and not a lot about Max and Ruby. They were there, but not really part of the story. My daughter is 3.5 yrs old and she enjoyed it but not as much I thought she would have. It would be better if they acted out one of the episodes ffrom the show....or something with more of the characters. We may not go to another Max and Ruby show.

    Remember Bedtime?

by mamajamma on 2012-12-15Hamilton Place Theatre - Hamilton

I thought that the production was very sweet and my kids seemed to truly enjoy it. However, I was completely distracted by the timing. The kids at the production were mostly under 7. It was called for 6:30 and it began late. Approximately 15 minutes late. Maybe this was because people were still filling their seats at curtain time, but if this is because people are dealing with children, I am sure that a production like this should have been aware that this happens and plan for it. It is not strange for children this age to eat by 5, especially if there is an event to attend. It should have started earlier. I was also surprised that it was a long enough production for an intermission. I know that the people who were seated around me were all a little miffed regarding the timing of the event. Realistically, during the holidays there are too many times that the kids will be up past their bedtimes. I think that a production intended for very young children should be sensitive to that, ESPECIALLY when running a show during the week, and while school is still running.

    Max and Ruby was forgettabable!!!!

by apjoe on 2012-12-15Hamilton Place Theatre - Hamilton

It started late which made the younger kids too fidgety, it was boring and not worth the price of admission, many people left intermission.

My daughter loved the show BUT

by Anonymous on 2012-12-15Hamilton Place Theatre - Hamilton

I attend those kinds of events with my young daugther who enjoy them very much: Disney, Strawberry Shortcake, etc and I ALWAYS record the show on my camera so she can watch at home again and every time she does that she remember the show and how happy she was, etc.. BUT not this time because I was rudely tapped on my shoulder to be told :"No recording". I didn't argue because I didn't want to cause a scene but I was so angry. Disney allow you to film for your personal use, is Max&Ruby bigger than Disney ? I am very disapointed and I will not return to a Max&Ruby show ever. We'll go see Disney instead.

Max and Ruby - The Nutcracker Suite was so cute. A true joy for the eyes and ears and most of all priceless to see all the kids enjoying the show so much. Absolutely beautiful

by Miloux on 2012-11-22Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

What a wonderful way to introduce the Nutcracker ballet to young children. My daughter, 3 years old, was excited to see Max and Ruby, but became absolutely enchanted with the ballerinas and dancers. The addition of more modern music was also refreshing and done with humor. Fun for the whole family. I had as much fun as my daughter did.

All in all it was entertaining. Including ballet dancers was a nice touch. The souvenirs were extremely over priced as well as snacks.

Max and Ruby Great for Kids!

by 990208 on 2012-11-20Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

I thought this show was excellent for young kids, ages 3-7. I think it's more for the little girls out there, but boys would like it too. My daughter loved the ballerina's in the show and of course Max and Ruby!

by Grammajamma on 2012-11-20Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

Having Max and Ruby "imagine" The Nutcracker Suite was a great idea. My six year old granddaughter related the story line to their father after the show and totally got it right! My four year old grandson told us, "That was just Great!"
