    Pleasantly surprised!!

by mamaof2 on 2012-11-20Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

This so was very cute, a great way to get the kids in the Christmas spirit! I have to admit going in I was dreading this show just a little; I find the TV show a bit annoying, and had previously attended a Backyardigans show at the Jube which I found to be a little screechy with cheesy prop changes. But max and ruby is one if my kids favorite, so I decided I'd grin and bear it. I was definately pleasantly surprised! The elves were a cute addition to help tie-in the Christmas theme and the dancers were fantastic. My kids were in awe of the ballerinas in their pointe shoes as they have both been in dance since the age if 3 They are now 5 and almost 7, and went with a friend who was 4 ( all girls) and they all loved it. I have to admit I quite enjoyed the dancing myself! It was fun and the costumes were beautiful. The prop changes were smoothly executed, and I loved the Christmas songs. I would definately see this show again!

I was a little disappointed. My little guy LOVES Max and Ruby and he didn't care for it to much. We wish Max and Ruby did more acting.

We were very impressed with this event, it surpassed our expectations. The dancers were amazing, our daughter was in awe. We did not know what to expect from the "Nutcracker Suite" theme, but it was very well done. Our 3 year old left in tears because she didn't want it to end!

Perfect for the Ballerina at Heart!

by Brittney85 on 2012-11-20Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

This event was like a mini Ballet. Perfect for a little girl/boy that loves ballet and Max and Ruby! I even enjoyed the mini dances of the Snow Princess and Prince, and the Sugar Plum Fairy! My daughter loved that Grandma made an appearance too. Great show!

Everything was great! Only thing I may change is to not have the intermission as I found my niece lost interest during the break.

The max and ruby part of the show was good and kept my sons interest, the ballet dancing parts lost his attention.

Ma and ruby! My son's smile made it all worth it!

by Spivey on 2012-11-20Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

Although the VIP tickets were pretty pricey (more than my amazing Rock of Ages tickets) seeing our three and a half year old's face light up the way it did made it all worth it. He greatly enjoyed the games, Meeting "Max and Ruby" and the show.

    Max and Ruby were amazing

by Kshay on 2012-11-20Jubilee Theatre - Edmonton

My husband and I brought our 3 1/2 yr old boy and he was enthralled. He laughed and clapped and Oh and Awed with the dancing. It was a fantastic time and well worth the money. The Christmas Songs at the end were perfect way to bring in the Christmas season .

It was good for a children's show. Only thing was that the intermission was WAY too long.

    Poor production

by Anonymous on 2012-11-16Kelowna Community Theatre - Kelowna

Max and Ruby was a poor production for the price of the tickets. There was way too much dancing to keep the children's interest. The storyline was extremely difficult to follow. The costumes looked dirty and the backdrops looked mediocre at best. The entire family, including our 2 boys, left very disappointed.

Max and Ruby in the Nutcraker Suite

by Herny on 2012-11-16Kelowna Community Theatre - Kelowna

My Daughter, 3 year old Grandson and myself went to this enchanting performance. We all loved it. The dancers were beautiful, the staging, magical and of course, Max and Ruby delightful. My grandson and daughter enjoyed the Snow-Angel performance the best. My favorite was the Sugar-Plum Fairy. This a a special way to introduce a new Christmas season.

    Great Event for Kids

by KJandfam on 2012-11-16Kelowna Community Theatre - Kelowna

I had originally thought that these tickets were expensive, considering that it's for a kid's event. However, once I saw the quality of the production, I realized it was well worth the dollars. This was done top notch. It had enough actual ballet in it to keep the adults happy, while including stuff for the children at the appropriate times to keep them involved.
