    Not to be missed!

by Anonymous on 2018-10-29Danforth, St. Andrews & Fillmore - Toronto & Detroit

Went to see Kim and Wayne, hoped for Matt and fell in love Marcus, Brendan and Billy so much so that I went to 3 shows in Toronto & Detroit. Energy of the band and the audience is amazing. Loved every second and felt very lucky to see so many talented musicians together in these fantastic venues. I hope they tour again ... they're great together and it was so much fun! p.s. I’ve seen hundreds of shows and this is only the second review I’ve felt compelled to write.

    Disappointing Concert

by hollerbox on 2018-10-20Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

The warm-up band Starcrawler was the highlight of the evening in spite of the lead singer spewing water on the crowd and firing an almost full water bottle directly into the crowd. Good arm on her, she could pitch fastball for sure; just needs to work on her accuracy. MC50 started out good, but played their best and best known songs right away and moved into a decent bluesy thing. After about the fifth song, things went downhill fast with Wayne Kramer and Kim Thayil doing some weird atonal annoying guitar jam. My pal called it 'punk wanking'. The annoying wanking went on for way too long and people started filling out. We left around then and the band was still at it when we made it outside. I've been to lots of concerts at The Commodore and this one is easily the worst. Big disappointment! I'll be back at The Commodore in a few weeks for TPOH and The Northern Pikes and know it will be much better than this letdown.

two great bands in this tour!

by HullBlackwell on 2018-10-20Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

I got the 'kick out the jams' album when I was 17, I loved punk and 60's music, so here was an explosive album that was in the front seat of being Punk or Metal, now to see this live with Wayne Kramer backed by a super band, was a revelation. before the show I decided to check out the supporting acts, and found Starcrawler who are on the tour with the MC50, was a young talented band fronted by a 6' 2" female version of Iggy Pop mixed with Wendy O Williams and a dash of Bowie. so two great bands! making for a great night out, and one of the best shows I have ever been to.

Cool band playing a great album!

by raunch on 2018-09-22The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

Original MC5 member, Wayne Kramer, and other notable musicians (from Soundgarden, Faith No More, Fugazi) did a great job of recreating the 5's infamous album 'Kick Out The Jams'. Add in some other MC5 favourites and you had a terrific night of entertainment. Well worth the dollars!

Wayne kicked out all the jams!

by Wigguns on 2018-09-22The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

When you’ve got MC5 playing live with parts of soundgarden, faith no more, and fugazi, you know you’re gonna get a hell of a rock show!
