Merle's show was 2 hours long. He sang many of his hit songs. This was his third show in 2 nights.

I was disspointed in the show. Merle just doesn't have the energy to carry on a show. His voice faded away many times (it's good the tall grey hair guy helped out in his weaker moments. A couple songs were better than the others, he just doesn't have it any more. Time for him to retire...... He didn't even play Ogie from Mistogee (however you spell it)

    Merle was great!!

The 10 anniversary of my Mother's passing on March 5/01 spurred my sister's & I to take in a concert with my Mom's favorite artist. He did not disappoint us. My childhood memories of Okie from Muscokie, Mama Tried, & Rainbow Stew brought us to tears. Saturday mornings listening to Merle whilst doing our chores, listening to my Mom squeal while she told the story of how Merle kissed on the cheek when saw him at the Jubilee Auditorium in the 70's. These are some of the memories that came flooding back. Mom's final few years were very tough and December always meant she lived another year. At her funeral we played If We Make It Through December which left the entire place reaching for a Kleenex. Last night was a wonderful way to remember her by.... with the man of her dreams, singing the songs that got us thru the bad times..... THANK YOU SO MUCH

    Merle - your the best!

by McAnnie on 2010-03-07River Cree Resort & Casino - Edmonton

Merle - you've still got it even if you're plus seventy! Your concert was a great show all around - some of the best music in the century and one of the best voices EVER in country music. . We don't agree that your 17 year old son had to play from the motorhome. Get real Alberta - the Venue isn't even in the casino. Boo to you for taking him off the stage.. Why can we take kids to Rexall where booze is sold and Merle's son who was in the main act couldn't enter the Venue? Makes absolutely NO sense. He's awesome on that guitar and we'd like to see more of him. Hope he comes back and is treated with a little respect next time..

    Merle Haggard was amazing

by Laurene on 2010-03-07River Cree Resort & Casino - Edmonton

Last nights show at the River Cree Venue was a great showcase of talent. Kicking off the show, Merle's son Noel warmed up the audience. He is a younger version of the legend. His son, Ben, who is only 17 was not allowed to play on stage. Although he was "piped" in from the tour bus, I'm sure it didn't have the same dynamic for him of the rest of the band. Perhaps the Alberta Gaming Commission would have better put their rules to use by ensuring that fans who were inebriated didn't attempt to steal the show. Guess there's an outlaw in every crowd. Several drunk fans tried dancing in front of the stage and although security tried nipping this distractioin in the bud, our view of the last three songs performed was completely obliterated by overindulgent rudeness. We did not pay $75 to see wiggling butts and hear whiny voices. We actually left the concert immediately after the last song in disgust. No point in an encore when you can't see the star!

I didn't know one Merle Haggard song or actually what he even looked like, I went as a favor to my husband. Thought the whole evening from beginning to end was fantastic, loved every song played (including those two fellas from S?N Carolina). Great musicians, Merle looked and sounded great. My husband was a little disappointed 'cause he didn't play a couple of his "big hits", again I wouldn't even know what those are, but I'm sure they're great too!!

We've seen the Merle Haggard 4 times over the last 20 years.Although his pipes aren't as powerful as they were 20 years ago, he still has that amazing touch that only the Hag possesses. His picking skills continue to amaze us all. We saw him in Branson last June and would rate this performance superior to that, but you have to consider that, at the time, he was 6 months past lung surgery. His sons have added a refreshing new dimension to the show, and both are tremendous entertainers in their own right. On the down side, the people who insist on standing or dancing throughout the performance continue to be a distraction/annoyance to the rest of us who paid good money to see as well as hear our favorite artists. At best they are inconsiderate and should be informed that there are dance halls and nightclubs around the city where they can go to strut their stuff.

    Merle is Always Amazing

by DukeDuchess on 2010-01-02Star Of The Desert Arena at Primm Valley Resorts - Primm

Merle is one of our favorite artists and as usual did not disappoint us. The show was so well done and of course his voice has gotten even better (is that possible?) The Strangers played well and it was a family affair. We had a great time. It is too bad that the majority of the crowd could not seem to get up the same level of enthusiasm at enjoying a legend such as Merle and mostly sat there looking stoned!!! My wife and I made up for the noise level though and had a wonderful time.
