About

World-renowned DJ and super-producer Moby dropped his 11th studio album Innocents in October 2013, impressing fans yet again with the announcement that it was entirely recorded in his Los Angeles apartment. Moby is best known for the 1999 musical milestone, “Play,” which not only sold 10 million copies and produced eight singles, but also turned EDM into a household name. In 2013, Moby entertained ticket holders with both old and new songs, covering popular and lesser-known material from all 11 of his studio albums. Between a small tour in support of “Innocents,” as well as a handful of west coast DJ sets and festivals, Moby keeps concertgoers in both theaters and rave tents happy with his massive energy and stage presence. His newest album "Innocents" is an ambient and introspective LP. It features a broad range of guest collaborators, including Skylar Grey, Cold Specks, Mark Lanegan, Damien Jurado and Wayne Coyne of the Flaming Lips.

Cycling through several pseudonyms, Moby had his breakthrough as Moby with his single "Go." In 1993, Moby signed with Mute Records and in 1999, his fifth studio album "Play" sold millions, sky-rocketing him into super stardom. “Innocents” is the first album Moby has made that is self-produced, and this new creative approach has helped generate some of the artist's most mesmerizing and ambient electro-pop in years. Considered by AllMusic as "one of the most important dance music figures of the early 90s," Moby will not disappoint in the days to come. From early 1990s rave anthems and forays into break-beat hardcore to the gorgeous melodies and string arrangements on classic albums, like “Play,” “18” and “Wait for Me,” a Moby concert runs the stylistic gamut when it comes to music. It's like watching a master DJ make a great mix tape right before your eyes.

Sometimes small size concert can deliver more fun and excitement than big concerts,it just prove to be in the Moby's concert!A lot of energy, great sounds and wicked light show for the small place like Kool Haus,at one moment i felt like i was at the "Rave" party, great performance by Moby,i liked the fact that 4 members of the band were pretty ladies, amazing musicians.I was surprised how cheap the tickets were,i would of pay the double amount of asking price for the show like that!!!

    Moby is a great musician!!

by Swit on 2009-09-30Kool Haus - Toronto

I didn't realize how great a musician Moby is until I saw him live! Watching play the guitar, piano, and bongos during the concert opened my eyes to how good he is. My whole family are musicians and play at least 3 instruments each, we know good music and Moby is GOOD!! He is very entertaining and sounds amazing live. Definitely worth watching again.

Moby was increible on stage. We were blown away by the 2 female singer (need to look up their names). It was a beautiful experience. He performed all of our favorites. The encore performance was so appreciated. Moby has reminded me how much I love the live intimate concert experience. LOVED his new song - can't wait unitl it's release in November. The Ultimate HIGH!

by Baki on 2009-09-29Kool Haus - Toronto

Moby is probably my favorite performer to see live.....he didn't dissappoint this time either. I'm still riding the high from this concert! The lights, sounds and overall atmosphere were incredible! The girl singers were amazing too! I was blown away from the very start. Highly recommended for any age group, any music-genre preference individual. Moby is something else..

    Change in style

by Inaani on 2009-09-29Kool Haus - Toronto

Moby is becoming more of a rock player, a transition that has challenges for an established style. Great voices from the 2 ladies from his band. A good show overall, if you pass the initial expectation of a rave type of music.

    Great stuff !

    by Vince80 on 2009-09-29Kool Haus - Toronto

I like that show very much. Tought there was a good mix of old and new stuff - and by the way the new stuff is just as excellent as the old. Was a bit deceived by "Why does my heart feels so bad" tough. Lacked the exciting touch it has on the album. The black singer was crazy. I liked her very much. I prefered the "techno" moments rather than the "rock" moments... "Honey" was disappointing at the end of the show. Luckily, there was the trance music to end everything in fire. What is the title of that song ? Anyone ?

    rrrrrrreally grrrrrreat!!

by rips on 2009-09-29Kool Haus - Toronto

Moby's rapport with the audience was commendable. The variety of the artists leading the songs was brilliant and the quality was phenominal. My husband did have an issue with all the tracks used, but hey, I am all into the feel and the moves, so who cares when you put on a show like that if you have to fake a few things here and there?!?!??!?!

    *Metalized* Moby

by satoro on 2009-09-29Kool Haus - Toronto

Holy Loud! Moby has an amazing band , and a terrific reportoire - but some excellent potential was somehow lost last night at Koolhouse... The light show was super beautiful and nicely stimulating, But sadly Moby did mostly 4 minute covers of his hits and missed the chance to get a little deeper with the mass of talent backing him up. The fawning over our city also began to seem like he was going to announce a run for Mayor (not necessarily a bad thing, but off topic!)...I didn't realize that Moby wants to explore a Metalrock vein...still though it was fun , i danced crazy , the scene was cool but hot , i'd see him again ,especially if he brings back a little classic ambient trance blues into the show!

    Moby was beyond expectations!

by MalcolmE on 2009-09-29Kool Haus - Toronto

Prior to seeing Moby live I would have considered myself a casual fan, I liked his music but would not have listed him as one of my favorites. That all changed with last night's show-I was blown away by the music, energy and talent of Moby and everyone on stage. To have the musical talent to smoothly transition from house, dance, electric eclectic, gospel and blues seamlessly during one show is a testament to the diversity of the artists and the audience. If Moby comes to town-you have to go-you will not be disappointed!!

    Amazing Artist, Great Venue

by OzEFan on 2009-09-29Kool Haus - Toronto

Moby never disappoints - he has great talent, appreciates many genres of music within his music, live he is one of the best I have seen and he interacts positively with the crowd. Koolhaus is a venue where you can still get close to the artist and feel like you are experiencing the music with them. Ticket price was reasonable too:)

    Great Musician

by Teodora on 2009-09-29Kool Haus - Toronto

Great concert, high quality music! Moby is a creative Musician with nice sence of humour! Unfortunately, not very famous in Canada...In Europe it would be a shame to accommodate his concert just in a small club like Kool Haus! But we are happy that he still is coming to Toronto!

    Moby very entertainning

by trailrunner on 2009-09-29Kool Haus - Toronto

I went alone to the concert as my wife refuses to stand up at concerts any more, and as I left work I contemplated skipping the show, but I'm glad I didn't. It was a superb show. One of Moby's band members opened the show as a soloist. It was an intimate few numbers with her playing electric guitar, keyboard, and mixing her beautiful singing. She has such a lovely voice. Moby came on around 10:00 and he and the band were worth the wait. What a fantastic show. It was quite a bit heavier and louder than I expected but the energy was fabulous. Moby and band played a number of songs from the new album but also played alot of his older favourites. The other singer was also amazing. An extremely beautiful and powerful voice. The set was also impressive capturing the mood of the show perfectly. Moby was very friendly with the audience and spoke quite frequently between songs. This by go down as one of my favourite concerts, if not the best.
