About

MODERN BASEBALL IN CONCERT:

Pop punk collective Modern Baseball has built a dedicated following with their strikingly relatable music, which brims with nostalgic lyrics about awkward dates, social media disasters, and transitioning into adulthood. At their live shows the band channels the sarcastic wit of Motion City Soundtrack and the rocker angst of Jimmy Eat World to ensure concertgoers are treated to a dynamic and emotional live experience. Ticket buyers can expect hard-hitting shows where both sides of the stage hurl energy at each other -- as the four-piece band revels in the limelight, concertgoers surf the crowd and scream lyrics at the top of their lungs. The result is a wickedly energetic live experience that will leave catchy tunes like "Your Graduation" and "The Weekend" in your head -- and a huge grin plastered on your face.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Singer-guitarists Brendan Lukens and Jake Ewald met at their Maryland high school and initially played together as an acoustic duo. After relocating to Philadelphia for college, they met drummer Sean Huber and bassist Ian Farmer at a house party and teamed up to form Modern Baseball. Their debut album, 2012's Sports, is a collection of emo-tinged pop punk songs in the vein of Dashboard Confessional and Jimmy Eat World. The record quickly attracted a huge online following and subsequently landed them a deal with Run For Cover Records. In 2014 they released their sophomore LP You're Gonna Miss It All, which landed on the Billboard 200 chart and impressed critics with its polished production and heart-on-sleeve lyricism. They scored an opening slot on tour with The Wonder Years in early 2014, headlined their own European tour that spring, and finished off the year with an extensive string of North American dates that has fans eagerly awaiting their next round of shows.
