MOGWAI IN CONCERT:
Scotland-based post-rock band Mogwai have been enchanting audiences for nearly 20 years with their ambient instrumentals and guitar-driven sound. At their mesmerizing live performances they play their down-tempo hits with precision and ease, vibing off each other beneath tranquil projected images that perfectly compliment their experimental sonic environments. Whether they’re playing new tracks from their 2014 release Rave Tapes or treating fans to old classics like “Auto Rock,” Mogwai are sure to leave fans awestruck on their upcoming world tour.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
School friends Stuart Braithwaite, Dominic Aitchison, and Martin Bulloch got together to form Mogwai in 1995, naming their band after the furry characters in the film Gremlins. The Scotland natives released their debut album Mogwai Young Team two years later, introducing listeners to their signature instrumental sound. Since then, the post-rock band has released eight studio albums including 2014's Rave Tapes, which peaked on the Scottish charts at No. 2 -- their highest charting album yet. Mogwai are constantly expanding their repertoire with new projects -- whether they're collaborating with Gary Lightbody (Snow Patrol) or composing soundtrack music for the film Zidane: A 21st Century Portrait, they never fail to present their music in a unique way. Mogwai won't disappoint as they share their hit-filled sets with eager fans on a string of upcoming tour dates.

They never spare their energy! They give it all on the stage :) I like their "no frills" approach, everything goes into the performance. Master of sound, they can create wonderful crescendos rich of pathos and suddenly slow into a sweet resolution. I love the emotions they give me. They played old and new songs, well balanced to warm up and involve the audience. I really appreciated Nina Nastasia, that I didn't know before this gig, I think she is amazing!
Great show. I've seen them a few times over the years and they never disappoint. Bring earplugs.
Incredible show but too short. A second encore would have been much appreciated.
I've listened to Mogwai a lot over the past five years, but this was my first time seeing them. They're cemented as one of my favourite bands and live music shows ever. The sound at the Danforth was brilliant on Monday night, and I could "feel" the music. A fully sensorial experience!
Can't say enough about how good they are live. If you're a fan of post-rock - there's a reason why these guys are seen as the arguable inventors of the genre.
Everything that night was just great, the quality of sound and the performance every little detail was fantastic.
Atomic was incredibly powerful and beautiful. I am so glad I made the trip to Toronto to seen them perform.
Mogwai made me cry. Repeatedly. There, I said it. Now go get your mind blown by this fantastic band.
It was amazing, explosive and I can't wait for them to come back
awesome concert with dedicated musicians who know how to inspire the crowd
Incredible sound - and far exceeded my expectations!
This was my third time seeing them and it was the best yet.
Would see them again and again. Did not have to put up with lots of talking between songs, just change guitars and go. A little to hot in the venue for a coolish April night in Toronto, but that would be the only complaint.
