Best concert I've seen in years!

by Jack Stalica on 2022-10-03Algonquin Commons Theatre - Ottawa

Moorcheeba exceeded ALL this fan's expectations. Skype was sleek, stylish, and theatrical on stage - with that crystalline yet silky voice I love. She got the audience to sing along, clap, dance and be thoroughly into the performance. Ross was low-key and funny, but rocks the guitar wonderfully. Ditto the rest of the band. While much of Moorcheeba's repertoire has a light, mellow vibe (and they did play all the favourites and a track of their latest), Ross and the band rocked it up a notch for the live show which made it an amazingly fun time. This fan left feeling he got much more for his ticket price than what he expected. I hope they return soon to Ottawa!

Literally one of the best concerts I have seen.

by M on 2022-10-03Algonquin Commons Theatre - Ottawa

I love this small venue, the sound was good as it tends to be here. But mostly, Morcheeba was so much better live than I had expected. I always expect electronica to loose something when it leaves the studio but this was an amazing, tight, performance. I would high recommend this show.

Sound experience ok but not incredible

by bb on 2022-10-02MTELUS - Montreal

It seems our return to MTelus was either with too high expectations or the sound engineering wasn't experience for that concert: instrument too high compared to voice, we were not able to hear her talk between songs... Other than that played songs were nice!

    More Morcheeba

by Van on 2022-10-02The Phoenix Concert Theatre - Toronto

Fantastic show from the Phoenix that opened up Morcheeba's North American tour. Great to see this band in a smaller venue. They played a deep dive into the back catalog, some new tracks, and played an encore that included a cover of Gimme Shelter. Always worth seeing when they come to town.

    Morcheeba… Slick

by Niles on 2022-10-01The Phoenix Concert Theatre - Toronto

Fantastic band, and performance as you would expect from Morchee. Venue is outdated, and I would have thought that Morcheeba could play a more upscale venue. Phoenix should at least invest in hand towel dispensers in the bathroom!

Loved it! Great energy and I liked the venue. I had tickets in the balcony which was great since it gave us seats. Would see them again.

    Spectacular show!

by Greenhorn on 2022-10-01The Phoenix Concert Theatre - Toronto

I don’t usually feel like a party on Wednesday night. This was no exception. Morcheeba brought fabulous energy. Their set list was perfect. All of their classics and a few surprises. They even killed on a cover of War in protest of the Ukrainian mess. Skye’s silky, sexy vocals had the crowd entranced from the opening track. Ross is a master on guitar, absolute legend. The band was tight and having fun. The crowd was electric. Spectacular show, can’t wait to see them again.

    Unique Morcheeba!

    by A. B. on 2019-07-05MTELUS - Montreal

What an evening! I was right up front, against the railing. Skye was amazing and transcendant in her red outfit, her beautiful, mellow voice enveloping us. Fun and unpretentious. Ross and the band were outstanding. Haven't enjoyed a show so much in a long time.

Amazing show ! Skye and Ross are so incredible.

by LaToch on 2019-07-05MTELUS - Montreal

I was as close as possible to the stage. Skye is so funny, it is obvious that she was really happy to be here and to perform a good show. They played all my favorite songs. 2 hours of show, a pure pleasure.

    Great show !

by Gaetan on 2019-07-05MTELUS - Montreal

Great venue, but happily we got there early so we could scoop up two seats in the balcony. It's fun to dance to the music but standing in the crowd for 3 hours would have been too much. It was great to see Morcheeba again after all those years. Both performers made it worth my while. I usually skip the opening act but I was happy to discover Léonie Gray. Will buy her music for sure. I also like the way you renovated the place except for lack of of any comfort amenities such as a place to put your drink (downstairs).

Morcheeba was great, the opening act not so much.

by newERA on 2014-05-29The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

The good: Although they did not play any of my favourite songs, I enjoyed Morcheeba's performance. Their cover of David Bowie's "Let's Dance" was excellent. Skye was very charming and had great stage presence. The bad: Connor Youngblood, the one-man band, wasn't very good. I don't care for vocalists who sound like they're losing their voice or dying. Jumping between the keyboard and guitar within the same song affects his stage presence negatively, plus he had no interaction with the audience. He needs to get himself a band. The ugly: I can't comment about how things are on the floor, but the balcony at The Danforth Music Hall had some of the most cramped seating I have ever seen. I dodged a bullet by not ordering a ticket in the front row since a barrier runs in front of those seats that's far too high. It looked like some people were having a hard time looking over. Thankfully, the view from my seat was good.

    Morcheeba Reigns supreme

by Woolie1967 on 2014-05-28The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

This band is one of my all time favorites. Their music never fails to elevate my spirits, which is why I was psyched to see them so close to home...... I enlisted a friend to come along for the evening , even though she had never heard of them. The opening act was a little slow & hard to hear ( not even sure of the young man's name, although in a smaller & more intimate venue I'm sure he would be delightful) , but when Morcheeba came on, they had the whole place under their spell. It was easy to see that they were enjoying themselves , and the connection to their audience. I was totally impressed by the whole thing, from the lead vocals to every little background part. I would highly recommend going to see this amazing band, even if you are not familiar with their music..... they are truly delightful!

    Good concert, nice atmosphere!

by adita73 on 2014-05-26The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

First time I saw them live and it was up to the expectations! Still good rock music softened by Skye voice. She is so pretty, like a doll, you want to take her home to play with it:-). Good experience overall.
