Motörhead is an iconic British rock band, originally formed in 1975 and still going strong. Their original sound, hard work and creative musical development have seen them become one of the world's most renowned rock bands, with a vast fan base across the globe.
The band was originally formed by Ian Fraser Kilmister in 1975. He's more popularly known as Lemmy and is the singer, songwriter and bassist for the band. In a changing line-up, Lemmy has remained the only constant member throughout Motörhead's 35 year history. Other band members include — or have included — Brian Robertson, Larry Wallis, 'Fast' Eddie Clarke, Lucas Fox, Peter Gill, Mikkey Dee, Wurzel, Phil Campbell and Phil 'Philthy Animal' Taylor.
The band's influences are diverse, and they are considered to be one of the first members of British heavy metal's new wave movement, which brought a fresh sound and approach to the musical genre between the late seventies and the early eighties. Although the band is typically associated with the heavy metal genre, their sound is unique and they are known for creating their own groundbreaking "fusion" sound of punk-led rock, along with sounds that pioneered early thrash and speed metal. Lemmy has often said that he feels more influence with punk rock than with heavy metal. Their sound has remained authentic to their roots over the years, and their fan base has grown accordingly. They have well over a million likes on Facebook alone. They have collaborated with Girlschool and the Plasmatics, among others.
Their career has seen Motörhead release over 21 studio albums, along with 12 compilations, 10 live albums and 5 EP releases. The most successful chart success for this power trio was during the early ‘80s, when they had a number of singles in the Top 40 charts. One of their most successful singles – and one that crossed over into mainstream appreciation – was “ Ace of Spades,” released in 1980. Some of their most beloved albums include the Ace of Space, Overkill, Bomber, Aftershock, The World is Yours, Kiss of Death and No Sleep 'til Hammersmith. They have sold over 30 million albums across the world and toured extensively across the Americas, Europe, Asia and Australia – often returning to their UK roots when they can. They have also played at a variety of festivals, including Reading and Leeds and European events.
awesome and LOUD ! Great, show and an awesome band Cheers
Motorhead Rocked! And the small venue made it even more enjoyable.
Once again Motorhead proved to be the best rock and roll/punk-metal band ever! And has the best lineup with Lemmy,Phil and Mickey Respect for Motorhead and Motorhead fans of all ages.. Motorhead lives forever!
Motorhead was great, Valiant Thorr rocked the house, But CLUTCH stole the show
Great show - they treated a small club with less than 1500 people like it was a massive European festival. Class act all the way.... LOUD!!!!
WOW!!!!!! ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS I HAVE EVER SEEN, 3 BANDS THAT FIT WELL TOGETHER. 9TH TIME SEEN CLUTCH FIRST FOR MOTORHEAD
METAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Motorhead were excellant! Basic hard, fast rock 'n' roll but Lemmy is just so cool his mere presence filled the Burton. The band was super tight and the lighting was excellant. Great show all around. The Burton though, leaves a lot to be desired as a concert venue. The sound is just ok and some seats are just not very good.
Having seen them before, Lemmy doesn't sound like his vocals are getting better. In fact, they are past their peak. However, given how legendary the band is, few people care. They show up for the loudest band in the world, who refuse to compromise or follow trends.
Good old school, no frills kick a#* rock and roll !
Best show to hit the 'Burt ever! Can't wait for Motorhead to return!
Was looking forward to a great night with one of Metal's legends but was met with a muddy mess of sound that made it impossible to even hear him speak clearly between songs let alone hear his signature pipes when playing. The wall of noise was so loud it actually started to cause pain (I've been attending concerts of all genres for 30 years and none left me feeling like this) and I had to leave. Clutch, by far, was the clear winner of the evening playing an awesome set that had many bangers tossing their hair in step and making a new fan out of me. Their sound was spot on with all instruments and vocals coming through loud and clear. Unsure why Clutch's soundman understood the acoustics of a 2000 seat venue whereas Motorhead's thought he was in a 15000 seat arena. Yes, they are supposed to be loud but loud is only good if you can actually hear something.
The last time I saw Motorhead was 2009 at Wacken with 80,000 people and they were phenomenal, the outdoor setting was very conducive to their "big sound". The Burt is a small venue which was not designed for electric sound, it was built for plays and possibly acoustic sounds. Having said this, Motorhead was Motorhead. They played a great set list and were outstanding as always. The sound was a little hard to hear Lemmy singing at times but otherwise "loud"' as I was hoping it to be. If you have never seen Motorhead live you need to find the opportunity to do so. If nothing else, as Lemmy says "We are Motorhead and no other band rocks like we do". Enough said.
Solid, but they didn't play some songs I was hoping to hear. Still worth it.
all 3 bands were great...clutch really was the best set of the night...valiant thorr was a great opener...
it was super loud and super metal, just what it expected.
The show was great! And The vibe was better! EnJoy!
Opening acts were great. Motorhead was legendary as usual seen em 3 times
Great show lots of good tunes my only complaint the long wait outside in the cold to get into the show and 1 hour plus line upo missed the first act
