Thoroughly enjopyed it. Laughed from the minute I sat down until I left. Highly recommended
It was very funny. SHORT REVIEW IS BETTER THAN NOTHING
Acting was great, but the text was disappointing. Jokes were old and lame, I knew most of them from internet! I expected more daring and funny lines
I watch a lot of performances from plays to musicals to ballet around GTA and sadly this was a disappointment. The title was really interesting but it doesn't live up to what it sounds to be. It's mainly for the older adult crowd and the jokes are nothing new. It's been heard of frequently before. I wanted to enjoy it. Even during the intermission I was debating of exiting but I figured it might get better. It doesn't. There's a whole lot of other things you can spend your money on than this show.
Theatre was old and run down, seats were uncomfortable, will not return. Performer was o.k. with his change of characters, voices, and facial expressions, but the shtick was old, I knew all the punch lines.........The afternoon show was too expensive, the theatre was less then 1/2 full.........I have been to finer theatres, that were much more comfortable with better performance for less money.. The lady behind us, was hacking away with a horrilbe cough, did not cover her mouth or her face, disturbed the whole performance, she should have been asked to leave or at least sit in the back!!!!...........
We were a group of five and none of us liked the show. The cliches, the jokes were old material - nothing we hadn't heard before!
For a one man show it was very funny. So many things I could relate to.
More like standby comedy than a play - but lots of laughs!
I read the reviews, but thought I would keep an open mind and judge for myself. The bad reviews were right. It was a new monologue completely created out of old material. I had heard those tired old jokes many times before....enough to not find them funny this time around. And then to make matters worse, when I thought the clapping was over, he came back on stage and started to talk to the audience! I just wanted to get out and on with my life, but felt like I was trapped:( There are much better things to do with your Saturday night!
I wasn't sure what to expect when I read that it was a "one man show" but it was pulled off brilliantly. Cheeks were hurting from the laughter. There was slight interaction with the audience which was good .
The event was overall entertaining. It had it's moments of humor but was not THE BEST. I was not expecting it to be a one man show...nothing wrong with that. He did a good job and it was ok.
It was a pleasant surprise - good clean fun with lots of laughs! Great way to spend a day.
The show seem it was written by Mel Brooks. Now for his time he was real funny. But with the new humor out there, this just didn't stand the test of time. For people in there seventy's would probably get a kick out of this. We were so uncomfortable that we left at intermission.
I have never laughed so hard in my entire life! I was laughing so hard that tears were coming out of my eyes and my glasses were fogging up! Thought Paul Kreppel was amazing. How is he able to remember 1 1/2 hours of lines in the play with just a 15 minute intermission without missing a beat. I think everyone could relate to this show. Do not miss this show! A great time to be had for all.
A night of great laughs and entertainment for a one man performance
from smiling and laughing so much :) We had a great time!
The night before the performance we saw a review in the Star giving it a very poor rating but went to the play with a positive outlook only to be very disappointed. The theatre was in very poor condition and then we were let down further when we witness a very low end performance that was full of jokes that we knew the punchline for way before the actor completed his line. During the show a person behind us had a cell phone out and the actor broke his line and took a strip off them for about 5 min. I understand that having a phone out is unacceptable however, losing your place and the audiences attention to chastise someone is very unprofessional as well. I am sad to say that without a moments hesitation we left the show during the break and didn't return.
My husband and I really enjoyed the show. It was very funny. Had never been to the Bathurst theatre before, an old church. It's a one-man-show, new for me but nonetheless laugh out loud funny.
I really like one person shows and I feel they must be hugely energy sapping for the person performing but.......I really wanted to like this show, honestly. I felt I had heard a lot of the "jokes" before and the constant voice changes were annoying..I don't know any woman who sounds like the ones portrayed. This show reminded me of another one called "A Jew Grows in Brooklyn" but that one was really funny and didn't rely on schtick as much.
