    Celtic Family Christmas

by MotherGoose on 2021-12-28National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

These tickets were a gift to family, not easterners by birth but by adoption. They had a fabulous time and enjoyed the talents of both parents and children. To say they were amazed would be an understatement.

    Felt like home…

by Jason on 2021-12-27National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

It’s a rare experience to see a performance in a large-scale auditorium and feel more like you were invited into the living room with family. Natalie and Donnell did just that. It felt like being home, with family, for Christmas. It was a wonderful experience!

    Great concert

by S. S. on 2021-12-23National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

Natalie McMaster and family are always a treat. We loved seeing them again. Especially the Christmas tunes. We found the smoke machine while made the lights look cool during the concert, was too much with mask wearing. Myself and friends had eyes watering most of the concert.

    Stupid COVID

by Lisa on 2021-12-22National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

Giving 5 starts only because I expect the show was incredible. We were unable to attend because that same day we had been notified we had close contact with a confirmed COVID patient. We did the “right thing” and stayed home. Turns out we contracted the virus as well. So, despite not paying for “ticket protection” or whatever gimmick that is, and losing the money we put towards tickets…we still feel good about our decision to not potential ruin hundreds of others’ holidays.

    A wonderful down-home Christmas concert

by C. C. on 2021-12-22National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

Despite the small attendance due to the pandemic, the Natalie MacMaster and Donnell Leahy concert had a great energy. They are wonderful performers, as are there very talented children. The accompanying musicians (from Ireland, Cuba, Cape Breton and Ontario) were also very talented, and together played very tight. All in all, a great afternoon to celebrate family and Christmas.

    Loved every moment of it!

by V. E. on 2021-12-22National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

It was a perfect show! A wonderful blend of straight up Celtic fiddling and Christmas music and song. The singing of “Oh Holy Night” brought tears to my eyes! I felt safe and well spaced out in the auditorium, and it was a just a perfect show to enjoy and take our mind off the worsening Covid situation!

    Amazing musical evening

by Rene on 2021-12-22National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

Natalie McMaster and Donnell Leahy provided us with an incredible evening of Celtic music which included Christmas carols and their own musical creations. To top if all off we had the pleasure of watching their talented children perform. It lifted our spirits tremendously!

    Wow!

by Barbie Doll on 2021-12-22National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

The concert was amazing. I loved the high energy each of the performers displayed throughout the entire concert. Everyone involved is extremely talented - including all the children. I was so impressed by the children. The little girl who sang O Holy Night was memorable. The 3 girls singing "I'll be Home With Bells On" would rival even Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton's performance. Natalie and Donnell are masters of the fiddle. They drew music out of their violins in a low range that I didn't know was possible with a violin - sounded like a cello - and then would take you to the heights of the range and astonish the listeners all over again. I'd never been to a concert of theirs before, but I'll definitely go again. Merry Christmas!!

We really enjoyed the show. The show was very entertaining. We had front row seats but I think any seat would have been fine. She has such a beautiful family.

As per usual Natalie & Donnell, put on a fabulous show. Natalie's energy is unbelievable, I was getting worn out just watching her. Their back up performers were fantastic as well. The children just knock you off your feet, their talent is completely beyond expectations. 95 minutes of sheer enjoyment!

    Pure Bliss

by Fiddleobsessed on 2017-07-11National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

As if the extraordinary musicianship of Natalie and her band was not enough, this performer has the most charming personality, with a mix of goofy self-deprecation and a quiet confidence.

    TD Scene Natalie was great

by lovefiddle on 2017-07-11National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

I had never seen Natalie MacMaster alone, only shows with her husband and children. She is an incredible performer, and she puts all her energy into pleasing the audience, while still maintaining her down home Maritime qualities. Natalie is a genuine down to earth person, and this comes through in her music. She truly is a Canadian Gem. I was amazed by all the Canadian talent that played that night. It truly was a spectacular night.
