First time seeing NOFX live. Thought the show was amazing! Fat Mike was at his finest sharing thoughts about Donald Trump, the election, etc.
I'll be honest, apart from a handful of hazy memories, I don't remember much on account of how much beer I consumed. However, I do remember screaming my head off and having a blast doing it. If there is a girl on crutches reading this, I'm sorry I lost track of you after five seconds of meeting you. I really don't remember how that happened. But we should get that drink sometime.
They always play an amazing show, but this time was special because of the smaller and more intimate venue!!!! So glad I went
Always a great time seeing nofx. They are great with crowd interaction and love putting on a show.
Should've known I was in for a bad night when they came out announcing they weren't going to play any songs that people like. From that perspective, they didn't disappoint. I think the only good song they played all night was Bob. The rest was either garbage from their new albums, or one of the few terrible songs from their back catalog. They basically designed the worst set possible. Total garbage.
How was the band? They were ok, not great but pretty good.
NoFX was solid. The crowd was surprisingly young (considering a lot of them were probably not even born when NoFX got together) and especially energetic/violent, which made for great secondary entertainment, from my vantagepoint safely near the bar.
Loved the show, finally got to see them after 15 years. They seemed as though they were truly having fun and enjoying the crazy crowd.
play your popular songs, that is what sold tickets at the Burton.
there should never be any seating at a punk show it should be outside or in a huge hall/arena/convention center/airplane hanger. this place made my nofx experience garbage. couldn't get a beer as they stopped selling as soon as nofx came on, when i got to my garbage seats they had already been puked all over thankfully i was able to steal someone else's seats. i will never go to burt and cummings for any event period that place should be torn down
Great show. Awesome set list. Crappy seat, but that's not their fault.
It was ok but not as exciting as last year, they seemed cranky when they came on stage, songs were sung as he lost his voice, also couple of songs were out of tune, El hefe was solid though, Fat Mike seemed either drunk and rude, or burnt out. didnt look like he was havin any fun.
Possibly their last time in Winnipeg?? Purchased eight tickets for friends and family, and no one was impressed by the efforts of the band or their set list. Everyone left disappointed after being pumped up since we first heard they were coming
I saw NOFX on Friday at the Kool Haus and it was one of the best nights of my life! My first time seeing these guys and they played awesome! Lucky me got to even meet Fat Mike (lead singer) after the show at our hotel - it was wicked! I would totally recommend anybody to go see these guys if you love rockin out to a good ol punk show! Totally worth the $!!! My NOFX cherry has been popped with PERFECTION! Thanks guys, your new biggest fan! Lexi x
The opening band was Crookedhook. They were a perfect band to open the night. The mosh pit was crazy!! I bought their albums, All We Got & Breathe Pollution (title track features Steve Rawles from This Is A Standoff & Belvedere!!) Old Man Markley were amazing! They are all great muscians and I bought a tshirt off of them. They were really nice!! Teenage Bottlerocket is a band that I have never seen before, they sound a little bit like The Ramones and were awesome! NOFX was obviously the best! The played The Decline! It was a great show!!
I love NOFX and last Friday was the fifth time I have seen them live. It was by no means the best performance I have seen, but I recommend it all the same. They always have energy (though somewhat subdued as they get older) and witty playful banter in between songs, and this time they ended with an unusual song and dance bit with roadies and crew alike to a song I can only imagine is called "Everybody is Racist." The only disappointing part was the song choice (I heard Saturday's song choice was better, oh well). They did a lot of slow ska songs, a lot of recent album songs, a few choice hits and a couple of really obscure songs. There were some moments where I was rocking out and some where I was just standing there scratching my head. The ska stuff slowed the momemntum of the show and the set-list seemed sort of short. Overall though, I had a great time. It was a pretty good audience. And NOFX, as usual, rocked. The end.
they just do what they do best and when they do wow life changing for sure
No FX was professional as always and put on an amazing show. I love the fact they have home-grown bands open for them. Crookedhook was awesome!!!
This was my second time seeing Nofx, the first was in July 2001. They never fail to entertain. The crowd was awesome, true fans. Fat Mike had awesome stage presence and there was dialog in between songs. And if you can believe it, they finish with THE DECLINE! Best. Show. Ever. I may or may not have internal bruising from the pit, but it was absolutely worth it.
NOFX claimed years ago that they save their setlists from each city ensuring that every visit is never the same. However, this set felt...the same. The only real gem they pulled out of their bag was umm...The Bag from the White Trash record. I wish they played some newer stuff ie. stuff from the Spits split. The opening bands, Old Man Markely (dudes' washboard wasn't even mic'd) and Teenage (riverdales/screeching weasel wannbe) Bottle Rocket were just flat...the Fat roster sucks nowadays anyways---NOFX shoulda brought the Spits or D4 again..you know...good punk! The set seemed short--too much talking, not enough rockin'...it felt like they played 10 songs. Can't this band get over themselves yet?
