Ottawa Senators History

The original Ottawa Senators were founded in 1883 and were one of the founding teams of the NHL during its early years, winning 11 Stanley Cup Championships between 1903 and 1927. When the NHL started to expand to the U.S., the Senators were sold to St. Louis and became the Eagles, but the team shuttered after one year. The second incarnation of the Senators joined the NHL in 1992. The Senators have since gone on to make the Stanley Cup Playoffs 16 times.

  • Sens Game

by Parent on 2020-01-15Canadian Tire Centre - OttawaRating: 3 out of 5

Took our annual boys trip to see the Sens again this year. My brother and I took our sons and saw the Panthers vs Senators. Good game, early Sens lead, only for the Panthers to come back. No complaints there. Seats were good, food was fine. Can't go wrong with the prices, being from closer to the Toronto area. (Not a Leaf fan!) Where I thought it lost this year was the activity for the kids. Last year we got in 2 games on our adventure and in both Sparty was out taking pics, different goalies and players missing faces, different little things for a "fan" experience. We all felt there was none of that this year. We saw Sparty only a couple times and was never even close to wear kids could get a quick high five or pic. We have young kids, so this is importance in their in game experience. Either way, we will be back.

Go HABS Go! Took my grandson to the game as a Christmas gift. He loved the cotton candy the most at 6 yrs old. 😂

  • I had a great time

by Marty habs fan on 2020-01-14Canadian Tire Centre - OttawaRating: 4 out of 5

Very professional staff, great arena. I was there to see my home team the Montreal Canadiens against the Sens and it was very fun.

  • I was suprise how efficient it was

by Marty habs fan on 2020-01-14Canadian Tire Centre - OttawaRating: 4 out of 5

There was plenty of room for the cars, and was easy to access when I got there. It took a little bit of time to leave but it's to be expected in a major even like this. Only down side was that we had to cross the street but the lights gave us plenty of time to do so!! Great parking experience.

  • Think about the waste.

    by D.B.W. on 2020-01-13Canadian Tire Centre - OttawaRating: 1 out of 5

Every time I visit the C.T. Centre for a game, I am overwhelmed by the amount of single use plastic which will end up in landfills. I am not allowed to enter with a reusable water bottle but I, along with hundreds of other fans, must purchase a plastic one. The vast majority of concessions provide food in single use plastic containers. The amount of waste produced by your facility is seriously depressing. 1 star for environmental awareness!

  • Not all of us want mobile entry.

    by D.B.W. on 2020-01-13Canadian Tire Centre - OttawaRating: 2 out of 5

I miss being able to download my tickets on my computer and to print them out for entry. I choose not to have a smart phone; the app does not sync to my 5 year old Android device; and it is inconvenient to have to pick up tickets at the box office, especially if you have purchased a parking ticket along with the game tickets. I am all in favour of making life easier for those who wish to use mobile entry, but not at the expense of those us of who have been used to printing our own.

  • Great night out!

by Drgeng on 2019-12-24Canadian Tire Centre - OttawaRating: 5 out of 5

Our family had a great time at our recent Senators game. We are from the GTA and prices to see the Leafs play are ridiculous. The Sens tickets were super affordable and the venue easy enough to get too. Atmosphere in arena was terrific. Arena itself was clean and comfortable. Had some congestion issues in parking lot but nothing a bit of patience couldn’t handle. Will go again for sure.

  • Great entertainment

  • Fabulous

by Jean on 2019-12-13Canadian Tire Centre - OttawaRating: 5 out of 5

The seats were great, buying tickets on ticketmaster.ca a breeze, and the game a WIN! By the way the National Anthems brought the house down. What a performance from that little girl!

  • Ottawa trip

by Nickname on 2019-12-12Canadian Tire Centre - OttawaRating: 3 out of 5

Takes a while to figure out the traffic and parking. Which way to get out. Flow of traffic (or lack of) in the parking lot when leaving. Consession prices seem gaugey like most arenas. Quality for the price is terrible. Seats are a bit tight. If one has wide shoulders it makes it a little uncomfortable. Trying to figure out the seating options is quite the maze. What do the zones provide? Coca cola, and what ever else is there.

  • Sens with friends

  • Sens win, but who cares

by CP FROM THE V on 2019-11-11Canadian Tire Centre - OttawaRating: 5 out of 5

I'm a Habs fan, so I don't care at all about the Sens winning. It was just an excuse to go and have some wobbly pops with the boys, and we ended up moving down into the 200 section, because attendance wasn't too impressive. Move the Sens downtown, or fold already... 5 Stars for the night out with the boys, but 1 star to the Sens organization. Ticketmaster experience was awesome do!
