Ottawa Senators History

The original Ottawa Senators were founded in 1883 and were one of the founding teams of the NHL during its early years, winning 11 Stanley Cup Championships between 1903 and 1927. When the NHL started to expand to the U.S., the Senators were sold to St. Louis and became the Eagles, but the team shuttered after one year. The second incarnation of the Senators joined the NHL in 1992. The Senators have since gone on to make the Stanley Cup Playoffs 16 times.

Ottawa Senators at Canadian Tire Centre

Located in Kanata, a vibrant suburb of Ottawa, Canadian Tire Centre is one of the region's premiere entertainment venues. Since opening in 1996, the arena has served as the home of the Ottawa Senators. Capable of hosting 18,000 fans for hockey games, the arena is also regularly used for concerts and other sports events. In 2007, the arena hosted games three and four of the Stanley Cup Finals. The arena is also known for being the place where Wayne Gretzky played his final NHL game in Canada.

    I took my 3 sons and their gr parents

    It was a wonderful family event and it was cute seeing children notice themselves on the big screen and wave etc. Sens fought hard against the Canucks. 44 seconds and they might have tied the game! exciting to see them grow as a team.

    Way too Loud and too much fighting

    Lots of fun spirit. The game was tense but there was too much fighting. You don’t win when you are in the penalty box. My decibel meter was over 100 most of the event - this is deafening.     Sens game

    This was a great spot for us even though it was in the 300 section we very much enjoyed it and had a clear viEw of the game . We all have short legs but if you have long legs and wanna sit comfortably I suggest 200 section for you . The crowd feeling up there was great Can’t use cash in the arena at all so make sure you have a credit card for parking and debit for food or drinks

    Had an awesome first time at Senators vs Kraken game at CTC. Enjoyed food and drinks at Bert’s before the game and had great service and food. What a great place to see a friend’s son play in the NHL! Will be back for sure!!

    Great experience with my first NHL GAME on my first trip to Canada....easy access to the stadium staff were super helpful...seats had a great view of the game
