Ottawa Senators History

The original Ottawa Senators were founded in 1883 and were one of the founding teams of the NHL during its early years, winning 11 Stanley Cup Championships between 1903 and 1927. When the NHL started to expand to the U.S., the Senators were sold to St. Louis and became the Eagles, but the team shuttered after one year. The second incarnation of the Senators joined the NHL in 1992. The Senators have since gone on to make the Stanley Cup Playoffs 16 times.

  • Poor performance.

by Frank on 2019-11-10Canadian Tire Centre - OttawaRating: 2 out of 5

I'm glad they won the game but, it shows that both teams are very weak. Didn't see a single good play from either team. Our junior team here in Kingston would have done better.

  • Ears Ringing

by Now Deaf Like Beethoven on 2019-10-31Canadian Tire Centre - OttawaRating: 1 out of 5

I admit that I'm not 20 anymore but I love music and I love loud music but our experience at the Sunday, October 27th game against San Jose was excruciating. The music played when there were breaks on the ice and between periods was over the top loud. I appreciate that sports teams think they need to offer fans non-stop entertainment but the decibel levels were off the charts and the wall of music people in the arena had to endure was relentless. There were three of us attending the game and we literally couldn't hear each other when the play stopped. Surely there could be reasonable middle ground when it comes to the music played.

  • Great!

These tickets for the Senators vs Sharks were for my little nephew's 10th birthday. He is a fan of the Sharks. The expression on his face when he realized what the tickets were for was priceless. He barely slept all night. The seats were close enough for him to see HIS team up close. Wow, I sure hope I can get the same time of tickets for another event in his life.

  • Good Game

by Scotty on 2019-10-26Canadian Tire Centre - OttawaRating: 5 out of 5

We were impressed how well the Senators did against the Blues. We were certain that the Senators were going to win, they sure held their own! Great seats and a very enjoyable evening,

  • nice way to spend a monday

by VonDoogie on 2019-10-17Canadian Tire Centre - OttawaRating: 3 out of 5

First off I tried to get October Bogo tickets for the game. The link in the Senators tweet took me straight to ticketmasters site (this was not your fault) somebody with the Sens kind of messed up. I bought 4 $50 tickets at the regular price, would of got better seats if BOGO worked. Enjoyed watching the Sens (the kids are alright) Game was kind of slow with both teams playing defensive. Nice if the Sens could of won but a nice way to spend a monday

  • Same old Same Old

by Matty on 2019-10-17Canadian Tire Centre - OttawaRating: 3 out of 5

Going to keep this review of the things not on the ice. Nothing changed of substance this year, same inefficient entry process, same sticky floors. The new club seats are nice, but this is the only time i'll probably use them.

  • Nice Game

  • Line up for security

by Hank on 2019-10-08Canadian Tire Centre - OttawaRating: 3 out of 5

We had a reservation for Berts Bar for 5pm. There was a long line up outside to enter the restaurant which consisted of those with and without reservations so we almost didn't make our scheduled reservation on time. They only had one person checking handbags, etc. So perhaps have a line for those with reservations and those without reservations OR put another person on security inside the restaurant entrance. Thanks

  • Fun fun

by Gino on 2019-09-24Canadian Tire Centre - OttawaRating: 5 out of 5

We had a good time, don t get to go as often as I would like too expensive for me. We were in the 303 section was fun.

  • Was a great time. First time at an NHL game it was great.

  • EXPERIENCE WITH TICKETS WAS HORRIBLE

by Dkbb on 2018-10-26Canadian Tire Centre - KanataRating: 1 out of 5

We received an email from the senators organization saying that as valued past season ticket holders we were eligible for tickets to the game for 29$ what a deal right ? Well no where did it state that the tickets were in a standing room only section, nor did they state that the only two ways we could get the tickets were by downloading an app or picking them up on sight. The whole experience put a damper on the night and made us realize why we will not be attending any further hockey games this season. You can keep you specials !!

  • Senetors vs. Canadians

by Gmana on 2018-10-23Canadian Tire Centre - KanataRating: 5 out of 5

Best time, so glad we went, only bad thing was toddlers screaming and on parents laps the whole time. Too snug for me, kids boots on strangers arms.

  • Sens played awesome!!!!!!

by Nibby on 2018-10-18Canadian Tire Centre - KanataRating: 5 out of 5

The game was exciting and the crowd really got into it. The young talent is really playing well together.

  • Great game

    by AEL9 on 2018-10-16Canadian Tire Centre - KanataRating: 5 out of 5

Great game! Seats were at the very top but I don’t think there’s a bad seat in the whole arena.

  • 1st time experience

    by Alex52 on 2018-10-16Canadian Tire Centre - KanataRating: 5 out of 5

It was my first time at a professional Hockey game. Everything was as expected, seat location, view from it, it is a full experience, perfect mixture between show and match. Despite high cost tickets for me, it is a must experience.

  • Family fun zone - decent value

by Scants on 2018-10-16Canadian Tire Centre - KanataRating: 4 out of 5

Took our 5 yr old to his first Sens game...didn’t want to spend a fortune on tix so sat in the family fun zone for $35 each - good value. Love the fact the game was in the afternoon...he would never survive an evening game!

  • NHL game was very exciting

    by Paula6111 on 2018-10-07Canadian Tire Centre - KanataRating: 4 out of 5

Enjoyed the game, transportation and facility but would prefer to print my tickets versus having them mobile.

  • Birthday gift for my boyfriend

He loved the game! He was so excited to sit that close to the players benches and he really enjoyed himself

  • Sens vs Habs

Great game for the price of $36.00 + a free meal at Mcdo

  • Ottawa vs Montreal game

by Bruders on 2018-10-02Canadian Tire Centre - KanataRating: 3 out of 5

Our seats were great in section 108 but people across the aisle from us got food and drink service but we didn’t. The two guys sitting behind us yelled and swore all through the game which was a bit much to listen to considering there were children sitting nearby. Concession food was good but really expensive.
