Ottawa Senators History

The original Ottawa Senators were founded in 1883 and were one of the founding teams of the NHL during its early years, winning 11 Stanley Cup Championships between 1903 and 1927. When the NHL started to expand to the U.S., the Senators were sold to St. Louis and became the Eagles, but the team shuttered after one year. The second incarnation of the Senators joined the NHL in 1992. The Senators have since gone on to make the Stanley Cup Playoffs 16 times.

  • Senators playoff game!

by rasa on 2017-04-26Canadian Tire Centre - KanataRating: 5 out of 5

Section 102 Row N. Great view with a great atmosphere the entire night! Sens lost that night but advanced to round 2 with a win in game 6 in Boston!

Obviously sports can't be planned, but this series has been great and Game 2 was a pivotal moment for the Sens

  • Overpriced NHL tickets freeze out families

    by hogg69 on 2017-04-12canadian tire centre - OttawaRating: 1 out of 5

15 years ago, NHL tickets were still (relatively) affordable for regular folks to attend. Even playoffs. But $171 for one playoff ticket? As your cheapest seat?? That's a cool grand for a family of four to attend, once you factor in parking, service charges and a coke and popcorn for the kids. Ridiculous and terrible value.

  • Senators Home Game 4?

by StanK on 2017-04-10Canadian Tire Centre - OttawaRating: 1 out of 5

Why is Home Game 4 not showing up? Home Game 3 is (also "if necessary").

  • disappointed

by kouiygbgfgfrsadg on 2017-04-07Canadian Tire Centre - KanataRating: 3 out of 5

the one game that my wife and I went to in two years. First thing was that parking is now $15.00, a 25% increase since the last game. All employees were very nice and very helpful. It was bobble head night and we appreciated the nice gift. We had a smoked meat sandwich each which was very tasty for $15.00 each. When we went to our seats the row floor was very sticky. Everything was nice EXCEPT THE MUSIC. It was loud and awful so WE LEFT AFTER THE FIRST PERIOD and said to each other that we will never come back as long as the loud awful music plays. We can watch it on TV with no loud music to damage our ears.

  • Game was good

    by NBFisher35 on 2017-03-09Canadian Tire Centre - KanataRating: 5 out of 5

The game on Ottawa's part was good. Quick passes, fast skating and quick shots. I thought the Bruins game was sloppy. The could not seem to get a hold of the puck and when they did they turned it off. Atmosphere was great and arena staff as friendly

  • Arrived to gravy, cheese covered seat

by StuckBesideTheBrawler on 2017-01-17Canadian Tire Centre - KanataRating: 1 out of 5

We arrived to find someone had spilled poutine on one of our seats and the floor in front of it (how Canadian). We waited more than half a period for someone to come clean, and they wiped the seat off with a cloth and swept the floor. The seat was hardly clean, the floor was a greasy slippy mess from the gravy and no one checked in after to make sure it was taken care of properly. If I was paying $20-30 for a nosebleed seat, maybe, just maybe this would be somewhat tolerable, but this was a $100 for the seat at a professional hockey game/arena.

  • Ottawa & Washington hockey game very good seats

    by pens1234 on 2017-01-10Canadian Tire Centre - KanataRating: 5 out of 5

We came from Montréal to see the game on a Saturday night. We had super a Bert's at the Canadian Tire Center the food was very good and fast service. We had a 20 minute wait but that was OK. At 6:30 we were out and in the arena with a half hour before the game.

  • Not worth the money

    by NotAgain1 on 2017-01-10Canadian Tire Centre - KanataRating: 1 out of 5

Having the metal detectors right at the front entrance doors really slowed our entry into the building. We had to wait outside for quite a while despite arriving at 5:30pm for a 7pm game. Plus 4 machines were not working. Maybe there could be a "fast lane" set up for people with no purses/bags. Service at the Molson Canadian restaurant was extremely slow (waited 40 mins for two smoke meat sandwiches) and too expensive for the quality of food received. Also $15 to park for a few hours is outrageous!!

  • Ceremony for Alfie great but seats were terrible

    by Beck58 on 2017-01-01Canadian Tire Centre - KanataRating: 2 out of 5

It was an amazing ceremony honouring Alfie! However, section 312 is a terrible section to sit in due to many fans that stand throughout the game. Do NOT sit in section 312 if you actually want to see the action. Never again will I make that mistake.

  • Why no Sens fans - Traffic!!

by Delay on 2016-12-04Canadian Tire Centre - KanataRating: 3 out of 5

Sens games are great but an Hour and a half to get to a game is not worth it!!!
