Ottawa Senators History

The original Ottawa Senators were founded in 1883 and were one of the founding teams of the NHL during its early years, winning 11 Stanley Cup Championships between 1903 and 1927. When the NHL started to expand to the U.S., the Senators were sold to St. Louis and became the Eagles, but the team shuttered after one year. The second incarnation of the Senators joined the NHL in 1992. The Senators have since gone on to make the Stanley Cup Playoffs 16 times.

  • Canadian Tire Centre Rocks

by Stickywebs on 2016-11-20Canadian Tire Centre - KanataRating: 4 out of 5

Year after year the Sens organization upgrades and improves the centre to enhance the experience for fans. It would be easy to keep the status quo but not this OWNERSHIP TEAM. My only gripe is the fee for parking. $15 is pushing the limits. That is why I limit my visits to Sens games to 1-3 times a year. Thanks. Go!!! Sens!!!! Go!!!

  • Always better live

by Mummer on 2016-11-20Canadian Tire Centre - KanataRating: 5 out of 5

CTC a great venue for the hockey game. I'm not a big hockey fan, but there is something about seeing the game live that makes all the difference. Ottawa fans can get anyone into a game!

  • Outrageous Pricing

Brought my 87 year old mom to the game and the Sens organization treated her extra special in every way by helping her to her seat showering her with gifts and putting her on the big screen she was very excited and appreciated her night out ...thank you !!

  • Sens hockey

by Karmac on 2016-11-06Canadian Tire Centre - KanataRating: 3 out of 5

The Senators vs the Canucks. Vancouver continues its losing streak. Seat one was obstructed by the cameraman. This was not noted at time of purchase. Staff at the venue said they checked and the ticket had been purchased that morning and there had been two pop ups to say it was an obstructed view. This is not true as the ticket had been purchased weeks before. There is obviously a connection problem between Ticketmaster and the box office.

  • Only bad seat in the house

by Anonymous on 2016-10-21Canadian Tire Centre - KanataRating: 1 out of 5

Camera impedes any view of the home teams end. Thankfully it's Ottawa and there were only 10,000 people there. I went to the box office and demanded they change my tickets.

  • An unbelievable and historic game!

by Bleuocean on 2016-10-17Canadian Tire Centre - KanataRating: 4 out of 5

I really enjoyed this game. The pace was fast and the action was back and forth. Both teams played their hearts out. I like the atmosphere of Sens vs. Leafs games. It is so much more lively compared to other games.

  • SENS home opener!!

by Kenshery on 2016-10-15Canadian Tire Centre - KanataRating: 5 out of 5

What an amazing game! Couldn't have asked for better! Although I'm not a leafs fab, it was still amazing to be witness to Austin Matthews record setting 4 goals in his first NHL game ever! It was my sons 15th birthday, and there is no bigger SENS fan. Having a SENS win was the icing on the cake!

  • by Anonymous on 2016-09-28Canadian Tire Centre - KanataRating: 4 out of 5

The event was fun. Would have been better since their was no in and out of event to have bags to put bobble heads in as carrying them and trying to do other things was not as pleasant. As well instead of scratch and win for meet and greets since not all of them are given out. And not all players are available for autographs even with the meet and greet. To have everyone be able to meet a player of their choice. Not everyone can afford to have season passes and like myself live an hour and a half away but are still die hard Senators fans. We we're lucky and someone gave us a meet and greet otherwise my son was ready to leave earlier and was disappointed he did not win a meet and greet and di not recognize any of the names of the wristband players and was not as interested in meeting them. One of the first years we went the wristband players had not only the prospects and players that get called up once in a while but some of the better players.

  • A great start to the season

    by NYC123 on 2016-09-28Canadian Tire Centre - KanataRating: 4 out of 5

The bright, sunny day provided lots of opportunity for fans young and old to participate in the outdoor activities. Inside, the scrimmages between Team Red and Team White were a good chance to see our favourites as well as up and coming players. Extra bonus was having 50% off concession food and one day sales in the Sens Store. .

  • Great Family Day

    by SensFan1 on 2016-09-28Canadian Tire Centre - KanataRating: 4 out of 5

It was a great day to spend with the family. Celebrating the start of another hockey season with the Ottawa Senators. This was our families first Fan Fest. We really enjoyed it. Our favourite part was meeting the players.

  • flames vs senators

by sjames on 2013-09-23Credit Union Centre - SaskatoonRating: 2 out of 5

1/2 of each team, mostly junior guys playing with a couple roster players. Good action but missed most of the big name players

  • Not impressed

    by bird1616 on 2013-09-23Credit Union Centre - SaskatoonRating: 2 out of 5

NHL prices for try out camp. No big names. Big names came out against the Jets, who's fans have the chance to see big name players through out the year. We get shafted when any team comes to town. We need a regular season game if we are going to pay these prices.

  • NHL Ottawa Senator vs. Calgary Flames was AWESOME!

by JasonY on 2013-09-22Credit Union Centre - SaskatoonRating: 5 out of 5

It was an Awesome experience!! I took my son to it & he really loved it. As for being a single parent & can't travel too much, so it was great to have an NHL hockey game come to the city of Saskatoon that I could take my son to watch and experience.
