Ottawa Senators History

The original Ottawa Senators were founded in 1883 and were one of the founding teams of the NHL during its early years, winning 11 Stanley Cup Championships between 1903 and 1927. When the NHL started to expand to the U.S., the Senators were sold to St. Louis and became the Eagles, but the team shuttered after one year. The second incarnation of the Senators joined the NHL in 1992. The Senators have since gone on to make the Stanley Cup Playoffs 16 times.

  • I took my 3 sons and their gr parents

by Sens Fan 2000000 on 2024-11-26Canadian Tire Centre - OttawaRating: 5 out of 5

It was a wonderful family event and it was cute seeing children notice themselves on the big screen and wave etc. Sens fought hard against the Canucks. 44 seconds and they might have tied the game! exciting to see them grow as a team.

  • Way too Loud and too much fighting

by Dpal on 2024-11-26Canadian Tire Centre - OttawaRating: 3 out of 5

Lots of fun spirit. The game was tense but there was too much fighting. You don’t win when you are in the penalty box. My decibel meter was over 100 most of the event - this is deafening. Turn the volume down. It hurts. It’s also an occupational hazard for all the players and employees. https://images.app.goo.gl/XhLRbwnAbgVHigo2A

  • Sens game

by Tara on 2024-11-20Canadian Tire Centre - OttawaRating: 5 out of 5

This was a great spot for us even though it was in the 300 section we very much enjoyed it and had a clear viEw of the game . We all have short legs but if you have long legs and wanna sit comfortably I suggest 200 section for you . The crowd feeling up there was great Can’t use cash in the arena at all so make sure you have a credit card for parking and debit for food or drinks

  • Hockey

by Joe Blough on 2024-10-13Canadian Tire Centre - OttawaRating: 3 out of 5

Game was fine. Venue is very tired. Seats need upgraded badly. Line up for mens washrooms were crazy bad. Even ladies were better. New arena to be built so nothing will be done to improve this one.

  • Ledge

by Ledge Enthusiast on 2024-10-13Canadian Tire Centre - OttawaRating: 5 out of 5

The ledge is the only way to watch a Sens game, food, service, and the view.

  • Good hockey, concessions are ridiculous

by Mac on 2024-10-08Canadian Tire Centre - OttawaRating: 3 out of 5

I enjoyed the hockey game but the concession prices are ridiculous. $18 for a pop and bottle of water! I have season tickets for the Ottawa 67's and this experience was a good reminder why. The Senators are a fun team to watch but I'll never attend more than one or two games per year because the greed is out of control. How are families supposed to afford this??

  • Joute pré saison

by Pre season on 2024-10-08Canadian Tire Centre - OttawaRating: 4 out of 5

  • Optimistic

    by Lucd033 on 2024-10-06Canadian Tire Centre - OttawaRating: 5 out of 5

Great team this year. Looking forward to seeing the team progress and optimistic about fighting for a playoff spot. Go Sens Go!

  • Sens Fan Fest - Last year was better!

by Sam on 2024-10-02Canadian Tire Centre - OttawaRating: 3 out of 5

The Sens Fan Fest in 2023 was way better then this year. The deals were absolutely great but no autographs at all from the players was a disappointment. The kids love to get them, doesn't cost anything but their time. The selfies weren't as popular because of this. Last year also, the games to win merch were much funner and interesting. Their wasn't much to do this year. Hopefully we can go back to the model of 2023.

  • Meh

by Sens fan on 2024-10-01Canadian Tire Centre - OttawaRating: 3 out of 5

Was okay, but it seemed that some aspects from previous years were paired back. Not sure if I will go next year…..

  • Maple Laffs vs Senators

by Hans from Kemptville on 2024-09-28Canadian Tire Centre - OttawaRating: 5 out of 5

An awesome time, even those wearing blue & white team jerseys were decent enough.

  • First night glitches

by MVP on 2024-09-27Canadian Tire Centre - OttawaRating: 4 out of 5

The game was great ! I also really enjoyed the band that played between periods as well. But the arena vendors seemed quite unprepared for the crowd. I ordered a simple cheeseburger - it took 20 minutes. No vinegar for the fries. Another vendor of ice cream and bottled soft drinks had a line that took another 15 minutes due to the slow payment process. Scanning the QR code in the parking lot didn't work on my phone - but I was able to complete the purchase later at home. I'm sure the next game day was better, but I'll probably eat before getting to the arena next time !

  • Great game experience! Kids LOVED it.

    by Tbirdy0 on 2024-09-27Canadian Tire Centre - OttawaRating: 4 out of 5

The Sens rink puts on a great show. Thanks for the memories! ..Other than the traffic getting there it was 5 *****

  • Was ok atmosphere is never too notch in Ottawa

by Sj on 2024-08-12Rating: 3 out of 5

Went to watch a game with my kid and had a sens fan chirping the whole time being us in the bathroom. Poor sportsmanship from sens fans especially in front of children pretty embarrassing actually.
