About

When Mark Van Doren, the American poet and teacher, wrote his famous work, "Our Lady Peace" in 1943, he couldn't have imagined the concept of rock'n'roll, let alone that a Canadian rock group would adopt his title for their name. Consisting of Raine Maida, Duncan Coutts, Steve Mazur and Jason Pierce. Our Lady Peace is one of the most successful bands in Canada today, one of only 11 artists with Diamond Certification in Canadian history. The band has sold over 5 million albums worldwide, won four JUNO Awards and ten Much Music Video Awards - one of the most MMVA's ever awarded to any artist or group.

  • OMG OLP (Hedley & Theory of a Deadman)

by VWKotek on 2009-07-15ZWICKS PARK - BELLEVILLERating: 5 out of 5

I was standing for hours while it rained (on and off) was well worth the lost voice that came after the Our Lady Peace show. (Hedley, Theory of a Deadman and Blue Rodeo, also played) It took me almost 10 years to see them in concert, I had tickets many times and I couldn't make ANY of the shows (for one reason or another) before the one in Belleville. I woke up to heavy rain and considered not going but then I didn't know when the next time I would have the opportunity to see them again. So I grabbed my father’s rain jacket and braved the rain. I am so glad I did, as I am sure everyone else who did were also pleased. The location in Belleville was great for this type of show and since I arrived early, there was plenty of parking. The location of Zwick's Park is easily accessible for locals and out-of-towners too (I'm from Ottawa). Although, it took a long time to leave the parking lot but that was due to the police officers.

  • drink, drank, drunk

This event was an interesting one!! We started out our day fairly early and made our way to Belleville, we are from Peterborough so it was a little bit of a drive. We reached the destination and waited in the rain to get into the park. We had second row!! We were so excited. After 'the parlor mob,' 'jimmy bowskill' and 'blue rodeo' performed, things started to get a little crazy. People from the back were pushing their way to the from, causing pushing, and people were getting pretty frustrated. THEORY OF A DEADMAN WAS AMAZING!! we caught TWO guitar picks.By the time they finished performing things were bad, there was fighting and alot of intoxicated people pushing and screaming., The security there wasn't as good as I was expecting, they didn't say anything to the people that happened to have a little too much to drink, causing arguments between people. Hedley began performing and we moved our way to the back of the group because we were sick of the pushing, screaming, fighting and getting kicked in the head from people crowed surfing. Hedley put on a great show and finally Our Lady Peace, their performance was unreal! The performers were unreal, I personally think that drinking was a problem for most people, but it was a great concert!!!

  • Rainy but Memorable Experience

by architectgal on 2009-07-15ZWICKS PARK - BELLEVILLERating: 4 out of 5

Though it started off as a dreary wet day and a weak start by the guest band(s), the main bands definetly pulled through. When OLP hit the stage, you instantly forgot you were soaked to the bone. They rock the stage every time. The only thing that could have made it even better, was if they could let us set up tarps or tents!

  • Blue Rodeo was the best...
