My daughter had given me the tickets as a Christmas gift. The day finally came. The event was well organized right from the parking location and busing to the venue, right up to the jumping that is always exciting. The weather and venue was awesome. I can now say I went to the Pam Am Games
Great competition. Very well run event Volunteers were great, supper friendly and helpful . The announcing system at the event was hard to understand, very quiet and muffled. Could not hear the announcements of what they were saying about each competitor. Roads in the parking area were horrible, dust and dirt. Should have been watered down
We Really enjoyed the event. The dusty parking lot was a problem.
the loud speaker system was not loud enough we could hear music however when commentating on horse & rider unable to hear who they were & from what country. Food venue not enough vender's we spent 1/2 hour in line, then to eat meal we missed part of the performance. we were only givne 40 minutes for the lunch break. Location was far could have been something closer to the stands. Unfortunate there was no covered seating. Medal ceremony could have been situated in the middle of the ring so all sides of the stands could see the finalists get their medals.
I want to say all the volunteers made it seem like an adventure we were going on. They were extremly friendly and moving alot of people quickly. They jumps were not that high and there was no exciting jump off or speed round, so not very exciting.
Beautiful setting and very well organized. I wish there had been more TV coverage!!
Excellent venue and event. It was very well organized and staffed. It would have been better if stands had been placed throughout the course

This was one of the best Equestrian events I have ever attended. Unfortunate that I couldn't get tickets for the metals round.
This was a boring competition. No jump off. No speed times. Not very high jumps. Most had clear rounds. Happy our 4 Canadians had clear rounds. Very good seats. Sun was behind us. Sound system not very good. Jumbotron was too far to really see.
We attended the Equestrian Preliminary Jumping Event on July 21st in Caledon. We found it to be well organized. The parking area is quite a piece away from the Equestrian Grounds but the parking was well organized. It is in a very large park (conservation area). we drove for quite awhile inside the park but there were volunteers to direct all the way. Although we were informed ahead of time we were still surprised that it cost $10 a car as the Pan Am committee has advertised that your ticket to the games are also good for your transportation. I guess that is only if you are taking a subway. From inside the park there were school buses to take you to the venue. They loaded the buses quickly so it was not a long wait. The venue was lovely. Our seats were great! Unfortunately it was difficult to hear the announcer, i guess because of the breeze. The grounds are clean, there are a lot of outhouses, well maintained. The food and drinks were reasonably priced. (Cheaper than Molson Amphetheatre). It is too bad the souvenirs are so expensive. $40 for a T-Shirt. That is a little ridiculous. Don't people realize that more will be sold if priced fairly. I will wait until after the games and pick one up at a decent price. Overall, we are so glad we went. We were a part of history!!!!!
The sound system was non-existent and apparently not a new problem. Ian Millar was the only rider who acknowledged the crowd. It was a long boring afternoon watching 60+% of the 50 riders have a clear round! It was a preliminary, one-time round, non-timed event with no jump off or excitment to engage the crowd.
Perfect venue. Amazing organization from signage for parking, shuttle, very little waiting for anything. Volunteers were the best - helpful, polite, engaging and knowledgeable. thank you to everyone involved in putting on this event. A superb day for my granddaughter, her friend and I. A good mix of concessions. Ice creams pricey.
The equestrian event at Caledon Equestrian Centre was great. The site transformation from a couple of years ago is amazing. The volunteers were fantastic - friendly and helpful even after spending 9 hours out in the blazing sun. There were great choices for food and it was organized well. I would suggest additional drinking water stations scattered around the seating area in the future. The competitors were clearly pumped to be there and it was a thrill to celebrate their successes with them. The competitors from Central and South America were the most fun to watch because of their own level of excitement and celebration. A personally satisfying round was finished with raised arms, kisses blown to the crowd and rides around the ring to thank all the people in the stands cheering them on! How wonderful that they engaged us all in this great event!
100% World Class event. Great weather and well run event.
Great venue! Seats were fantastic and reasonably priced.. was worth it.
The show was awesome. Enjoyed every minute of it. I didn't like the fact that you had to park at ALbion hills cons. park, then being bussed. There is no shelter for rain...........and it did rain, then had to wait for buses to take us back. If we had been able to park at the CEP, we could have gone right to our cars.
Excellant competition. Would have liked a covered venue for the sun/heat. Please do not play music while the rider is competing. Did anyone consult the equestrians re etiquette during competition? Should have provided repeated education for uninformed spectators. When the rain came they put up umbrellas and left the stands. This behavior cost the leading rider his medal. Shame on them! No free transportation to the stands for the disabled.it was a long walk for those with walkers or crutches
Great venue! Excellant competition. Food choices minimal, expensive and not well placed on the course. $4.00 for water! There did not appear to be any options for the disabled. I saw an older women with a walker and several on crutchs trying to travel on the uneven terrain! should have had complimentary golf carts with drivers. Great getting into parking space but a very long time to get out with no coordination of traffic.
Deadly hot, but amazing event! Congratulations to all horses and riders!
