One star... because I did not actually see the match. We arrived at 10am for the 11am games. Mother nature did not cooperate & it rained on and off. Games were delayed and after 4 hours of waiting around.... we had to leave because my son had to go to work. Too bad there was not an indoor court where a game could be played. My very first tennis match to watch live.. and all I saw were the workers drying the courts. The games started later.... after 4pm I think, but I was home. $70 for tickets and $20 for parking. .... no game to watch = :(

The Rexal Centre was most presentable of course however the service provided by Pan Am was disappointing. You can exactly blame the volunteers for their knowledge or lack there of but the training that took place before the games had started. In fact, the little details that the volunteers should have known prior to opening day was non-existant. I'll start with the parking lot. You pay $15 to park over a mile away from the actual venue. Not the best thing to discover on a hot day. What if there were elderly people or disabled who had to take that trek? The only sign that actually showed the distance between the lot and near the venue was over a mile away with 900 meters left. Kind of pointless. You should either make signs more visible or advise spectators that there is another lot nearby if it was even accessible to spectators. Very poor advertising and Pan Am totally took advantage of the fact that people will pay $15 not knowing they still have to walk so far. You could at least arrange for a shuttle service between the lot to the venue especially since York U provides shuttles. You keep advertising that transfers are included in your ticket purchase but you won't even specify if this is TTC or shuttles buses. Very poor planning. Then you get to the venue. Of course everyone has water on them because it's hot and of course we're all asked to dump out the water. I was personally told by a volunteer that there is a water refill station at the white concession tent. Wrong. After asking 4 different volunteers who had no idea where to direct me, we pretty much all ended up and discovering that the "refill station" is the bathroom sink. Not very sanitary but what do they care? They're milking out more money for bottled water at $3.50 each. I just hope that after all the feedback, the organizers will take these little things into considering before even hosting another big event. In fact, these are little things that should be considered regardless on how big the event is for the city. Oh and of course let's not forget the fact that Pan Am decided to release ticket sales in a number of waves and providing wrong information again by saying that certain sports were sold out but then jacking up the prices to open up these "sold out" games. It's a shame really. Other than that, the games were enjoyable. Scoreboards could be more visible, though.

For the low price of the tickets this was an incredible value. The level of tennis was very high and not a bad seat in the house. Friendly atmosphere with plenty of parking and no traffic woes. If you are a tennis fan you would be making a mistake missing this opportunity.
