Panama Wedding began as the bedroom recording project of Long Island-born singer, songwriter, and producer Peter Kirk. After relocating to Manhattan and renting studio space, Kirk began performing his electronic compositions as a solo act throughout New York City. As the project gained momentum, Panama Wedding grew into a full ensemble with a drummer, and in 2013 the new lineup released a reworked version of Kirk's song "All of the People". The updated rendition was a massive online hit, garnering nearly one million plays on Soundcloud and landing the band a deal with Glassnote Records. Several high-profile CMJ shows followed, cementing the band's place as one of indie pop's brightest rising acts.
