About

"From Genesis drummer and eventual frontman to one of the most influential adult contemporary solo artists of all time, Phil Collins has enjoyed more than four decades of rock success. The London native may have started out as a child actor and model, but his move to music in the late 1960s proved more lucrative.

For five years, Collins served as drummer for prog-rock mainstay Genesis, eventually transitioning to singer after the 1975 departure of Peter Gabriel. Collins not only juggled his Genesis days with jazz fusion outfit Brand X, but he also simultaneously nurtured a solo career, beginning in 1981 with “Face Value” and the instant hit single “In the Air Tonight.”

Among tours with both bands, Collins managed to release 13 straight Top 10 hits between 1984 and 1990 as a solo artist, including ‘80s staples like “Easy Lover,” “Sussudio,” “A Groovy Kind of Love” and “Another Day in Paradise.” The multiple award winner was tapped to write and perform the songs for Disney’s 1999 animated film, “Tarzan,” as well as 2003’s “Brother Bear.”

Collins’ most recent collection of new material, “Testify,” surfaced in 2002 and preceded his “First Final Farewell Tour.” He and the Genesis crew, minus Gabriel, joined forces in 2007 for a reunion run. Rumor has it the big-ticket act is considering another get-together in 2014."

I flew in from Vancouver Canada to see Phil because he won't play in Vancouver. It was well worth it. Even with a damaged body still has it and his son was amazing.

    Phil Collins was absolutely incredible!

    by Sporty99 on 2018-10-20Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

The best way to describe the Phil Collins concert was “unexpected”! We have been to a lot of concerts......Coldplay, Maroon 5, Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake, James Taylor, Sting.......this by far is one of the best concerts we have ever been to. Nowadays, concerts are shows.....with lots of dancing and effects. This was a real concert! We sang with the band for 2 hours straight. We knew ever lyric of every song. The sound was raw and phenomenal. The band and back up singers were top notch. And his son, Nick, was sensational on the drums. What a memorable night!!!! Thank you to Phil and his entire band! We truly hope they will be back for another tour!

Great show. Would go again. Disappointed with the merchandise sold in the venue. Bought a t-shirt with the show dates on it, and did not have the Toronto date on it.

    Phil Collins was amazing!

by TakeMeHome on 2018-10-18Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Even though he has some mobility issues, he puts on a fantastic, heart warming show. From the ex-Genesis musicians to the backup singers - every member of this show shines. His son tours with him and represents the musical artistry his father showed in his younger years! A must see for any fan of Phil Collins and Genesis.

    Absolutely Amazing

by Kallen on 2018-10-17Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Phil Collins was a treat and still has all the talent he ever had. The slowest moment of the evening was a moment with his son Nicholas and the piano. It was so touching seeing the Father-Son team perform together, the slow moment sunk right into the seat of my soul. The rest was nothing more than a fabulous show.

    Phil Collins

    by Belfast2929 on 2018-10-16Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

I attended the show with my daughter and it was the only time we seen him live. Would have loved to see Geneses but never got the opportunity. The show was fantastic from start to end, Loved the whole band and the stage show was amazing. Our seats were also great and the sound system was excellent. The main reason for seeing him was that a lot of 70's bands are sadly dying off due to illness and I wanted to see Phil so I can add him to my long list of bands I have seen. The show was amazing and I am so glad I seen it and shared it with my daughter.

    Still alive

by stoneycanuk on 2018-10-16Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Great show. Great band. Great music. Despite Phil's back issues he still has an amazing voice and a warm humble way of connecting with the audience. Lovely to hear songs from his amazing catalogue of hits as Genesis and in his own right. Nick, his 17 year old son is a talented drummer but the rest of the band deserve a mention - Luis Conte (percussion), Daryl Stuermer (lead guitar), Leland Sklar (bass guitar), the Vine Street Horns and backing singers were all incredible. Phil is certainly Not Dead Yet!!!!

    Phil Collins avoid concert

by COLLINSFAN on 2018-10-16Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

A long time Phil Collins fan, seen him many times as a solo artist and with Genesis, this is by far his worst performance, a money grab to pay the doctor bills. He sits for the whole concert and cannot reach any long high notes, very disappointing would like to have the money back as listing to the set list on my phone in the car would have been more enjoyable

by Finmanlog on 2018-10-15Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Phil Collins can still sing it like yesterday, his band is incredible and the Backup singers are an amazing compliment to his voice. His music is timeless so it was a fun evening. I also liked the fact that he did not have an opening act because I just wanted to see him.

    Not so good.

by iLou on 2018-10-15Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

As an old fan, this wasn’t very good. His voice was good but his set list was terrible. I’m not criticizing his injury however, watching him sit was extremely boring to watch.
