PRISM IN CONCERT:

Canadian band Prism continue to rock the Great White North with their anthemic tunes and electrifying performances. The group rose to prominence with a string of '70s hits that sound as fresh as ever at their nostalgic live shows, where fans raise lighters to the sky as guitar solos fill the air. Whether they're "Flyin'" or giving fans a "Night to Remember," these veteran rockers never fail to have fans dancing in the aisles on their electrifying tours.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Prism formed in Vancouver in 1977, releasing their self-titled debut album that same year to considerable critical and commercial success. In 1979 the group scored another commercial success with their third album Armageddon, which went double platinum and garnered them Group of the Year at the 1981 Juno Awards. A string of successful albums followed during the decade, spawning hits like "Young and Restless", "Turn on Your Radar", and their first US Top 40 hit "Don't Let Him Know". Despite lineup changes over the years, the group has retained their distinct rock sound, continuing to release material throughout the '90s and thrilling fans in 2008 with the album Big Black Sky -- their first in more than a decade. Prism continue to treat rock fans with career-spanning sets on their unforgettable tours.

  • Ringin in the New Year with PRISM!

by Jillybcheerful on 2018-01-03Century Casino - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

The show was excellent. The boys still got it and they sang MOST of my favorite PRISM songs. Would be happy to see them again, maybe at River Cree?! I really enjoyed everything with the exception of the seating and the bar service. The line up was always long and my husband spent more time waiting to get us drinks than sitting enjoying the show.

  • Crank Up The Volume - It'll Sound Better!

by rockingoodtime on 2015-08-07Deerfoot Inn & Casino - CalgaryRating: 3 out of 5

An unfortunate sound mixing event for a Great Canadian Band with nostalgic hits. The Sound Guy at the mixing board didn't quite understand DISTORTION and decided to crank up the gain levels on the drums and bass guitar beyond what the speakers could handle for a small venue like the Deerfoot Inn. This caused so much interference that it felt like being sound BLASTED - especially in the first 10 rows. The vocals were even being drowned out at times. It's unfortunate, otherwise it would have been a great experience and a much more enjoyable rock and roll evening. Proof? The girl in front had her ears plugged a few times. Spectators around me didn't look like they were much rock and roll fun. Not anything like the week before with Honeymoon Suite. People leaving this event didn't look happy or excited either. They looked stressed and dazed from having to endure excessive decibels with distortion. Some even had their fingers in their ear -probably to get rid of the ringing. The sound for the two previous bands, Harlequin and Jerry Doucette was much better - still loud but much cleaner. Thanks Sound Guy for putting your years of experience to work and making PRISM sound less than perfect.

Took my hubby as a surprise for his birthday. Not only was Prism awesome but th cover band Chronic Rock was really good as well. Prism hasn't lost a thing in all the years since I first started listening to them in 1978, they still got it and rocked the house!!!!After the concert the band came out for a meet & greet and signed autographs, they truly made my hubby's birthday perfect when each of them signed "Happy Birthday" Thanks Guys You Rock!!!

This show was nothing short of fantastic. They hit the stage full of energy and fun and rocked us all night long. The rock moves were all there from 1976 and the dance floor was full from beginning to end. Atomic bliss.

  • Prism was not at their best

by eightiesrule on 2015-03-03Century Casino - EdmontonRating: 3 out of 5

The venue was nice. The sound was terrible and the band forgot their lyrics. Prism played here before, and they were awesome, but this time they sucked!!

  • Prism was a great blast from my past

by Purrfection on 2015-03-03Century Casino - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

Prism was awesome. The opening act was questionable. Her backup singers couldn't carry a tune. Her rearranging of songs didn't work. That part of the show was not enjoyable. I am referring to Ruth and friends.

  • Prism was excellent.
