Originally from the Golden Triangle region of Southeast Texas, Pug Johnson's songwriting and sound reflect the blend of musical influences that have converged there. Pug's lyrics are simple and sincere while still possessing a unique wit and charm. "I think we're a continuation of the swamp pop tradition. Southeast Texans inherently blend things, music being no exception. Hell, even our mud is called 'gumbo'" says Pug Johnson.
